I hope some of you at least heard about this anniversary — the key word here being ‘Modern Statutes’, which in this case means the passing of the landmark 16th Amendment, which was ratified on February 3, 1913.
I think, and I could be wrong, that ‘Form 1040’ came into be in 1913. From what I see ‘Tax Day’ in those days was March 1.
True enough the instructions for the 1040 were only 1 page long. But, the 1040 per se was already 3 pages long — though each page is much, much simpler than today.

Leonhard Euler [April 15, 1707 to Sept. 18, 1783]was a Swiss born mathematician and physicist who was a towering figure in the fields of calculus and graph theory.
