I happened to do a search on ‘Cricket’ on DirecTV last night and got the above results.

I watched two of the 12 minute ICC Champions Trophy 2013 highlight packages: England vs. New Zealand and Sri Lanka vs. India.

The coverage was appalling. ESPN has no idea. They start by telling you the outcome of the match. The two commentators are basically inarticulate and one of them has such a thick accent I can’t even work out whether he is talking English or some foreign language. Never heard of them either, like who the heck is ‘Ricardo Powell‘? Is he some Cuban that played softball for a women’s league in drag? They sure are not Michael Holding and Jeffrey Dojon.

You can’t cover even a 24 over ODI in 12 minutes. It was totally unsatisfactory.

That ESPN has cricket rights is a bloody travesty. I blame the Indians. They had to have been responsible.

Espn3 is showing Ind-WI-SL tri-series ODIs. Does it mean espn3 has bought the rights for games in West Indies?

I am TOTALLY confused too. It appears that ESPN has got the WI home match coverage right. But, how? TEN Cricket used to boast that they had it. Looks like ESPN is buying up as many cricket rights as they can. BAD NEWS for us. Where are YOU watching ESPN3? Internet? Thanks.
