I happened to see this story on CNN TV this morning. Deanna was intrigued.
I immediately thought it was bogus. A ‘has been’ trying to drum up some publicity and attention.
Yes, I know it is his rural vacation home, BUT he has no security system whatsoever? Find that implausible. Yes, I know that he is an ex-NFL player and as such probably did suffer some head trauma but you would think that even he might have considered a cheapo ‘$99’ system from ADT.
No arrests by the police? No charges filed? Give me a break. This was a setup.
It also transpired, at a later interview (that I also happen to catch), that he would throw parties at this house on a regular basis for these kids! OK. That bothers me some. Could be all innocent BUT it appears that this guy, as he has admitted, knows many of these ‘kids’ quite well. I don’t know how well.
There is more to this story than meets the eye. I do not buy it, as it is being told, for a second.
The CNN anchors that interviewed him this morning were a disgrace. They were so ‘ga-ga’ over this fat guy that they failed to ask any hard questions. Chris Cuomo, one of those anchors, loves to brag that he is a lawyer. And yes I know his pedigree. Yes, he is a nice enough guy, very pleasant and always polite. But I have always thought that he comes across as having an IQ of a flea — which probably explains why he is but a pretty face while his brother is a very respected and capable governor.
This was not one of CNN’s better stories. There is a ‘similar’ local story and I, as a professional cynic, have trouble with that one too.
