We all got up at 4 a.m. to see Comet ISON and the others!

Us getting up that early, especially I, does not happen often.

I knew we were taking a chance. Weather forecasts don’t typically tell you cloud conditions for 4 a.m.

But we went up Prospect Mountain to Ridge Road — where in April we saw Pan-STARRS.

There were breaks in the cloud cover. We could clearly see the Big Dipper and Jupiter.

But the clouds (and possibly fog) was worst low down, by the horizon. So we were foiled. Thwarted.
It was cold too.

We might try again Saturday morning.

But, here is the MAP for New Hampshire for the Comets.
I hand ‘drew’ it for you in PowerPoint.

It is no great secret that I set out to OWN ‘Comet ISON’ when it came to books.

Well check this out. This is what Amazon showed if you did a search on ‘Comet ISON‘ (for books).

#1, #2 & #3.

Didn’t make me rich or famous BUT as achievements for a year go, this is far more satisfying, far reaching and fun that serving on some ‘going nowhere‘ town committee.
