happybeagleThe same lovely lady from Anthem, ‘Amy‘, who called me Monday, called again, at 5 pm today, to see if I had got my card etc.

I haven’t got my card or been able to print a temp. ID card. And no, they have yet to charge my credit card.

But, like ‘Lisa’ from the N.H. Insurance Department said last week, I sure am the lucky one.

Yes, that I have all these folks working on my behalf helps. But, Anthem has, after the initial scare, treated me well.

Thank you, Anthem.

‘Amy’ has promised to send me an e-mail that I can use in lieu of a ID card!

Plus, remember they also sent me a letter. I am happy.

We All Had Fun ‘Playing’ With A ‘Ziosk’ At Uno’s, In Concord, Monday Night. It Actually Has APPS. Quite A Few Free.

Click to access info on ‘Ziosk’. I want IN on the IPO, please.

That was our first experience with a Ziosk — essentially an Android pad married to a stripped down Point-of-Sales (PoS) system with credit-card swipe and thermal receipt printer.

As it happened I, very atypically, has also taken ‘MY’ (as opposed to the kids) ASUS Android pad into UNO’s too — because I wanted to check a few things.

The battery pack of the Ziosk on our table was dying so until the waiter replaced it we couldn’t get much sense out of it. But once we had a charged battery in it, it was a lot of fun.

Yes, it has Android APPS. So Alton’s Rusty Moose, with its 1/2 price APPS sale on Tuesday and Thursday, is on the right track. Bravo. Unos gives you FREE APPS with each drink order. It incorrectly billed us 99 cent for an APP we didn’t buy, but the waiter immediately took it off.

We couldn’t order our appetizers and my booze to start with because the battery was low. But once we had the new battery we ordered sundaes for the kids and payed the bill, via credit card, via the Ziosk. I, of course, loved it. I like technology put to good use. It even let me read bits of that day’s ‘USA Today’. Nice touch.

The free APPS, which include a lot of games, is ideal for the kids — but they need to work out how to cope with two warring, very competitive kids at the same table.

I will, when I have a ‘second’, write a separate post on UNOs. We had a very positive experience. That we had a coupon for 20% off the bill, helped.

Yes, two thumbs up for the Ziosk. Every restaurant worth its salt should have one, or two, at each table.

I love it when technology is cleverly exploited as in this instance.

Bravo Ziosk. It is not perfect, but it is on the right track. I want to invest in them. I am IN at the IPO.

UNO. Bravo. My bad for not going there more often. That is going to get rectified — partly thanks to the Ziosk.

That I don’t or that I can’t blush is a fallacy. It just doesn’t happen very often. I could go for years without blushing.

Well I got an e-mail from a ‘friend’, a great fan of my papal writings, today, that did make me blush.

He along with three others are helping me proof my latest pope book, because I can’t proof my own writing to save my life.

The book is 92% done so yesterday I sent out the Foreword (yes, that is how it is spelled) to the book which is written by a Catholic Father from the U.K., a frequent collaborator, Fr. Anthony.

Fr. Anthony is highly educated, some of it in Rome, has the equivalent of a doctorate in Canon Law (a so called S.T.L.) and has even celebrated Mass, with Pope Paul VI (#263) in St. Peter’s. He writes very well.

So when I sent out the Foreword for ‘review’ by my little selected panel, I said this, because that is what I BELIEVE:
“Unlike my chapters this is very well written and I didn’t see any typos.”

One of the reviewers sent me back this in return. It was nice to hear. But, made me blush.

“DO NOT sell yourself short.
There is more talent in a nail clipping
from one of your pinkie fingers
that anyone I can think of that
has, is, or ever will publish anything!”

I am still convinced that it was Joe.

Do not mess with Biden. Hilary take note.
Didn’t somebody trip you too? You wore a football helmet rather than a brace.

Now we can connect the dots.
