TDS is OK. When it comes to coddling customers, good customers, they are NOT Fidelity, Bank of America or Discover — though, ironically, their people TRY real hard to be nice. It is that it is a very distant, cold and aloof corporation. That said, of late, they deliver what they promise. So they are OK — not that I have any choice.
I do have to hand it to them that they do TRY (at least of late (and that I mean in the last 12 months)) to be nice to their customers. That is good. Their REWARDS program where you get a $20 Amazon or Walmart gift card for every $1,000 you spend with them is nice. I rack up $1,000 with them every 4.5 months! So I have had 3 or 4 gift cards from them already. I bought my latest Asus Android PAD using a $20 Walmart gift card from them a few weeks ago.
They have now started offering this ‘extra-special’ discount program with TigerDirect.
That is good. I applaud them for that.
I like TigerDirect and have bought a LOT of stuff from them — though, I now realize, that I haven’t bought anything from them in the last 6 months, buying electronics instead from Amazon, Walmart and Newegg. Hhhhmmm. I have actually bought quite a bit of electronics in the last 6 weeks — and none of it from TigerDirect. I have to see why. I get at least 2 e-mails a day from TigerDirect with their special offers and I do eyeball them. I now might have to go and buy something from TigerDirect to try out the TDS code and just to assuage my conscience for not shopping with them. I like to be loyal to the retailers I like and TigerDirect is definitely in my ‘I Like‘ column.
