Deanna made this short 48 second video of Mike Cryans, at his Gilford reception, on Sunday, February 17, 2014, for this blog.

I stood to a side, watched and listened. It struck a chord. Anybody who knew Ray Burton would know that it was ‘constituent service’ that defined him — set him apart. That Mike is committed, wholeheartedly, to continue that legacy impressed me. After twenty years of doing consulting to corporate executives I am fairly good at ‘reading’ people. Mike come across, to me, as being extremely genuine. This is not empty campaign rhetoric. He believes in it and means it. I also got thinking. He is not doing this for the money. He can make 10 times more doing what he already does. He is running because he cares. Ray cared. That we all knew. I could be wrong, but I doubt it in this case: I genuinely think that Mike is truly committed to serving the 225,000 constituents in the manner that Ray looked after them.

Watch the video. Make up your own mind. Try and catch him in person. He will be at the Alton Library on Tuesday, February 18th at 6:00 pm.
