A ‘Twitter-age’, bullet-point biography of the ‘Good Pope’, still the most popular pope ever (Pope Francis notwithstanding), to mark his April 27, 2014 canonization.
It is a book for those that have always wanted to know more about this Pope, the one that convoked Vatican II, but had felt that they did not have the time to read one of the many traditional biographies of his life. This ‘101’ book is designed for the pell-mell lifestyle of the ‘Facebook age’. It is ideally suited to be read on mobile devices, in bits and pieces, in planes, trains, coffee shops and parks.
My second ‘101 Facts & Trivia’ book — the first having been about comets last year. This book differs from the comet book in that it is in ‘Q & A‘ format. Those that reviewed the book, as I was writing it, said that they liked this ‘interactivity’ since it made them feel more connected.

So this is what I have been doing for the last 5 months. Started on October 5, 2013. I was working on “Popes: 101 Facts & Trivia” when I thought of this book during my morning slog up Prospect Mountain Road. It was my ‘Road to Damascus’ moment. No, alas, there were no blinding lights nor did I fall on the ground — though there was a horse, watching me, nearby. I already knew a fair amount about this pope. But it was fun to do more research. I like this pope. He was a very likeable person. There hasn’t been a pope like him since — Francis but a pale imitation (who is trying his very best to emulate this one).
Check out the book. Amazon, as ever, provides their ‘Look Inside‘ feature.
I published it late last night, around 11:45 pm. Amazon had it up, fully listed and priced in 40 minutes. So I was able to see it ‘live’ before I went to bed. That was a bonus.
