I did NOT stay up till 2 am to see it.
I have seen quite a few spectacular lunar and solar eclipses in my time.
Plus there is three (3) more, yes 3 more, to come over the next 18 months.
I did, however, go out twice to see what the conditions MIGHT have been like; first at around 10:15 pm and then at 11:35 pm. It was cloudy and hazy both times — but the Moon was beautiful. I did not have our 20x Optical Zoom Panasonic ZS19 handy. The zoom on the other two are fairly pathetic by comparison. So I didn’t bother to try and take a picture.
IF you do have any pictures of the ‘blood red’ Moon over New Hampshire please, please send them to me (e-mail >>>) and I will post them with full credit to you. I will make YOU famous and immortal. Promise.
Here is the official NASA image (cropped by me).
I think that small ‘yellowish‘ dot at 11 o’clock (or 11:25 to be precise) is probably Mars.
Mars was in conjunction with the Moon.
So it most likely is.
