I went looking for the Alton Central (ACS) School Board Calendar to see WHY we are not having a Board meeting till June 16, 2014.
It appears that there are at least two pressing issues that could have done with a Board meeting on the originally scheduled date of June 9, 2014 — to wit: Principal search which appears to have gone off the tracks (most likely due to the Superintendent, William (Bill) Lander, not paying enough attention to this crucial task) and the unbecoming, not to say unnecessary, Prospect Mountain High School (PMHS) JMA shenanigans. Now on top of these two we have a serious bullying incident which I am led to believe will get presented to the Board in Non-Public (of course) session at the next meeting — supposedly on June 16. I might have been given incorrect ‘G-2’ but I heard that the N.H. Commissioner of Education, Dr. Virginia M. Barry, called and talked with the Superintendent on Friday. Well at least, if this is true, there is some visibility of the bullying issue in Concord.

Have a look at this ACS School Board calendar. You can access it here.
I know I am not the brightest bulb in the world and that I get easily confused, BUT what are all those asterisks (‘stars’) supposed to denote. I kind of do understand the notion of using footnotes. So are these supposed to be footnotes — and if so isn’t the ONLY footnote “* Holidays/Vacation – No meeting”.
So does that make sense?
Why is there an asterisk after “Approved Meeting Calendar subject to change as the need may arise*“.
There is NO footnote after that. So what does that asterisk refer to?
Plus up at the TOP where it talks about prior to and after 7/1/14. Never mind the asterisk — does it make sense. After 7/1/14 they still meet on a Monday @ 6 pm. So that part didn’t change even though the person who typed this couldn’t even maintain consistency between “p.m.” and “pm” across two consecutive lines. This is very poor show. Somebody should show this to Mr. Major the 7th grade Science Teacher. He rips kids for much less. I wonder how HE would grade this ‘paper’.
I fully understand that checking such a document for veracity is way beyond the pay grade for Bill Lander. But doesn’t the School Board check this stuff?
So we have had the ball dropped on the May concert program.
We had the missing picture in the ACS Handbook.
Yes amazes me. Don’t even mention distress.
