Linda Wilman should be the Acting Principal rather than this inane title ‘Associate Principal’.
Maybe I am the only one who remembers but Leggett started off as an Acting Principal. So why is Linda Wilman classed Associate when Leggett was Acting? I know people think, rightly or wrongly, that Leggett was BIG, but I am not convinced that it takes two to fill her shoes.
This to me is BOGUS.
I could be dead wrong in this and I hope that people will jump to correct me but I, in my ignorance believed that mentoring was supposed to be a part of a capable and competent superintendent’s job brief. So I guess I was wrong. In the case of William (‘Bill’) Lander we need to give him a special title, and no doubt a significant bump in his hefty pay, to mentor Linda Wilman. That in itself is a joke.
I don’t think William (‘Bill’) Lander is in a position to mentor Linda Wilman.
I think Linda Wilman, in all matters intellectual, academic, professional, social and ethical, towers head and shoulders above Lander.
[In case you are thinking that Linda Wilman must be a friend of ours, we don’t actually know her that much. Kind of met her a few times at QUEST events, but we have consistently heard good things about her from kids and parents. On the other hand, we, alas, do know William (‘Bill’) Lander from the many school-related dealings we have had with him — not to mention near daily, of late, e-mails or phone calls I get where he gets mentioned, though rarely if ever, favorably.]
Stop beating around the bush, just make Linda Wilman acting principal, let Lander continue as the bumbling Superintendent — or better still just make Linda Wilman principal NOW.
This is yet another example of the Alton Central School Board’s ineptness.
Well, the good news is that the kids (and not just ours) are DELIGHTED about Linda Wilman. She appears to be widely liked and respected. Not so William (‘Bill’) Lander. He scares kids. Not a good attribute in a supposed educator.
Well, as ever, I have said my piece. I feel better. Somebody has to say the obvious and I am happy to do so.
