Click to access ‘NH Insurance Dept.’ presentation, re. 2015, that I featured yesterday, which has this slide on page 6. There are also many other supporting slides that talk about Frisbie.

Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.H., is not one of ‘our’ hospitals. Rochester, is neither ‘here nor there’, as the expression goes, when it comes to us needing a hospital. Huggins, in Wolfeboro, N.H., is the closest, though, alas, it leaves much to be desired in the ’emergency care’ area. But, we do use them — mainly for the kids. For anything more serious I insist on Concord or even LRGH. Never used, never have even been to Frisbie. We do know a doctor that works there — but going to Rochester for a hospital is not in our ‘lexicon’ of thinking. Maybe I should reexamine that.

That Frisbie was not covered by Obamacare [i.e., ACA] Anthem plan for 2014 was BIG news. I even read, in the paper, yesterday, that there was a lawsuit challenge to that which got turned down. That is why I revisited this ‘NH Department of Insurance’ presentation again because I had vaguely remembered seeing Frisbie in there. Yes, Frisbie is covered by four of the five 2015 NH healthcare carriers — but NOT by Anthem-Pathway X. Guess Anthem doesn’t like their charge structure. Fair enough.

Obamacare [i.e., ACA] based healthcare plans are far from fair, equitable or sometimes even competitive. I kind of think I would have got better coverage for roughly the same price IF I had approached Delta Dental independently OUTSIDE of bloody healthcare.gov.

But this was just a heads up about Frisbie, because it is local, and because local people are concerned about whether it is covered. Check out the presentation.
