In that same issue of “The Baysider”, i.e., November 13, 2014,
starting on the frontpage there was indeed a report of
Jeffrey Clay’s remarks to the Alton Central School Board.
Given the claims made by Jeffrey Clay in his letter
I fully expected to see a spirited rebuttal in the
November 20, 2014 “The Baysider”.
I did NOT see one — though I could have missed it.
I do not know Jeffrey Clay or do not think I do. Maybe I will recognize him if I see him. Yes, as is my wont I did check him out. He is a teacher or at least was a teacher. He appears to have a fair amount of experience when it comes to the law as it relates to N.H. school.
I have, alas, no idea whether he is right. He doesn’t strike me as someone who would get his basic facts wrong. BUT if he was wrong why didn’t ACS refute his claims.
Reminds me of the Lynda Whitehouse letter about BULLYING at Alton Central that appeared in “The Baysider” on August 21, 2014. Despite the very incriminating charges made in that letter I do NOT recall seeing a response from ACS. So I assume that there was nothing that could be refuted in her letter.
If nothing else, re. Jeffrey Clay’s letter, I had hoped that other would jump to offer their endorsement of the exemplary Associate Linda Wilman. This is the second time, in a row, that the Alton Central School Board has not jumped to her defense. In early October they accepted an apology from her, when she should NOT have apologized. She was NOT appointed acting principal. She was appointed Associate Principal — supposedly being ‘mentored’ daily. IF that is the case then she can’t be blamed for not knowing something. Her mentor should have kept her straight on that.
Well we are HUGE fans of Lina Wilman. Best thing that has happened to ACS in a long time. Yes, we know she needs the paper certification.
BUT if Jeffrey Clay is right, we should know about it.
Mr. Clay claims, in his letter, that he ‘is not done’. Bravo. I hope he does. He has a good track record for following through and pushing things as far as he can. I wish him all the best. Glad to see that there are folks in Alton that care to look into this stuff. My hat off to Jeffrey Clay.
