The PBS Masterpiece “My Mother And Other Strangers” A “Home Fires” Look-Alike BUT Not As Good.

I recorded it on Sunday for two reasons: the Gerald Durrell inspired title tickled me and it look like an extension of ‘Home Fires‘ — that we have come to adore.

Yes, it is another life in Britain during WW II movie — with a lot of yanks about — albeit, this time set in Northern Ireland rather than in England

Though there are times that you think you are yet again watching ‘Home Fires’ it is nowhere near as compelling and intense. But, Teischan likes it and that is good. I am happy. IF you like British period pieces from that era you should at least watch one episode and see what you think.
