1676 — End of the King Philip’s War when Metacom was killed.

1877 — Thomas Edison invents the phonograph.

1898 — U.S.A. annexes Hawaii.

1961 — East Germany starts construction of the Berlin Wall.

1966 — John Lennon expresses regret for his comment “We are more popular than Jesus now“.
