“Whisky Galore” Movie (2016) On Starz — Classic British Comedy, Reminiscent Of “Waking Ned Devine”.

“Waking Ned Devine” Trailer (on YouTube).

Very funny. Very watchable. Classic British comedy with touches of the 1960s — 1970s “Dad’s Army” — but definitely more reminiscent of 1998 “Waking Ned Devine” (though alas without any nudity involving the backsides of scrawny old men).

It was on Starz (which we got free from DISH for 3 months) and I recorded it. Glad I did. We enjoyed it. Yes, a bit corny and a tad predictable — but it is said to be based on a true story. So, I guess they had to stay somewhat close to the actual events, even at the risk of it been not-as-dramatic if it was purely fictional. Great cast of characters. Try and watch it. I am sure you will enjoy it.

I Canceled Sling TV/Willow As Promised — Enough With Their Duplicity & Lack Of Cricket.

by Anura Guruge

My subscription did not end till this Sunday, i.e., April 22, 2018. So there wasn’t any point cancelling it earlier.

But, as promised, I did. Had it with Sling. It is a very duplicitous outfit. All they try to do is screw you.

Hotstar” is NOT great. After the first two matches they again stopped having full-length, ball-by-ball replays. You can watch it live, but after that it is only SHORT, unsatisfying snippets.

Not sure what I am going to do come June and IPL 2018 is over.

Public Restroom Hot Air Hand Dryers Spread Bacteria!

by Anura Guruge

I am a germaphobe in my own way. I am at my worst when I have to use public restrooms. That you cannot open most of them by pushing them with your elbow or foot irks me NO END. I do not want to touch any door handles.

When I go into a public restroom I do NOT want to touch ANYTHING other than what is attached to I. Simple as that.

I am very adept at using elbows and feet to turn on/off taps, activate flushes and dispense soap. Yes, of course, I like ‘non-touch’ automated taps and dispensers — especially paper towel dispensers. I will grab a paper towel and use it to touch other surfaces.

Folks ask me often why I come out of a restroom with a paper towel in my hand. It should be OBVIOUS. I do not want to touch the door.

So, this study did not surprise me much. I really hate the new fangled ‘Dyson Airblade‘ hand dryer (below) — though in general I am big fan of Dyson and have a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Not sure what they were thinking. Not sure WTF they were thinking. You can’t use those damn dryers without your skin coming to contact with some surface! Stupid. Idiotic. Plus, it feels disgustingly rude and it takes much to make me feel as such.

THE WORST, the STUPIDEST and the MOST FILTHY hand dryer of them all — and it is from Dyson! Click to ENLARGE.
