My Garmin Fenix 5 with ActiFace with THIS MORNINGS set-up. I made some changes in the afternoon!

Garmin Connect customization options.

My original plan had been to use ‘GearMin‘ as my preferred, and as such default, Watch Face on my Garmin Fenix 5.

I had ‘GearMin’ on my VivoActive HR. But, at least in my case, the ‘Down Button’ stops working when I use ‘GearMin’. Happened twice and that was enough for me.

I had downloaded ‘ActiFace’ at the same time as ‘GearMin’. I started using it. It has grown on me and I will even confess to liking it — especially after customizing it a few times. The top image shows more or less my current configuration. This afternoon I changed one field — the ‘elevation gained‘ reading. It was redundant. It is always 10x that of floors climbed, since that is Gramin’s criteria for floors climbed; i.e., 10’ change in elevation. So, I changed that to display ‘% of weekly step goal’.

I definitely recommend this watch face. It grows on you. Very capable watch face.

Thanks for a brief and excellent write up. Has a lot of features to tweak.

Tried them all, and came back to traditional hour/min/sec needle based watch face. I need it to count my espresso extract (35 seconds on my coffee machine). 😉 It’s easier to visualise and count, than doing math (subtract, addition etc). And vision is getting dimmer to see all the small fonts too! Age…
