IF You Did Not See “America’s Got Talent” ‘Golden Buzzer’ Winner This Week — “Zurcaroh”.

by Anura Guruge

YOU have to watch THIS. You will THANK ME for it.

Pretty amazing. I have over the years seen plenty of acrobatic, aerial stuff, BUT this was still pretty amazing.

I thought they were from Israel. NO. Brazil. Do not ask me how so many of them were able to come over and WHO paid for it.

This was the last act of AGT 2018 week one (i.e., this week (May 29)). Prior to this act there had been nothing that special. But, this!

Enjoy. Be amazed.

Google’s “Project Fi” Wireless Service Adds 3 New Phones: 2 High-End, 1 Low-End.

Given that I have a Google Pixel 2 I have used Google’s “Project Fi” from the get-go. It was a no-brainer for I since I do NOT have a big need for data. Has worked well for I — plus I use the built-in software SIMM.

The BIG drawback of ‘Project Fi’ was that it basically ONLY supported Google Pixel/Pixel 2 phones a couple of old Motorola phones. Well, this week they have fixed that. Interesting choices. In terms of pricing the two LG phones are much more expensive than the Pixel 2. Wow.

Well, check it out.

Ignored BUT Growing Form Of Pollution — Neglected, Long Obsolete, ‘Lost Pet’ Signs.

by Anura Guruge

I, as a pet owner, fully understand and appreciate the distress of a missing pet (though I have to say that in over 40-years of owning dogs I have never had one go missing).

I have no gripes with folks putting up ‘Missing Pet‘ signs. If they think it helps, by all means. I also realize that it is cathartic.

My gripe is that they NEVER take down these signs! These days they are invariably laminated, in plastic sleeves or on thick, plastic-coated paper. These signs, nailed/stapled to trees stay on for years.

About 5-years ago a very prominent and wealthy family in town lost one of their (supposedly) trained, sled-pulling huskies. They plastered signs within a radius of 15-miles. They never found the dog and that has always bothered me. I still see these signs … 5-years later.

The two signs I show above went up a few days ago. They plastered the area around us. These two signs were about 10’ apart — set well back from the road. Very few people walk these streets. Most drive. The signs are too far to be read from a car.

These signs will stay up …

That is my issue.

My Letter To The Queen Was Successfully Delivered To Buckingham Palace.

by Anura Guruge

This is a very serious matter to I. Which is why I wrote, extremely respectfully, to the Queen.

I now know that the letter, at a minimum, was safely (I trust) delivered to Buckingham Palace — by the trusty ‘Royal Mail’.

I know that somebody of semi-import will cast their eyes on it.

Not sure what will happen after that.

I am hoping that it will make it at least to one of the Queen’s Private Secretaries.

I am HOPING to hear back, but I am not holding my breath. If I indeed get any correspondence I will, of course, share with YOU.

Pretty prompt delivery. I mailed it around 3pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Alton Post Office.

It left Newark, NJ on Saturday, May 26, 2018. So, it missed the U.S. holiday on Monday.

So, 6-days from Alton, NH to Buckingham Palace isn’t too bad. I am cool with that — though I have to confess it was NOT cheap. I am so glad e now have e-mail and Facebook. International postal rates are a killer.
