January 20, 2019, Blood Red Lunar Eclipse Over Central New Hampshire.

by Anura Guruge

Despite the HUGE storm we had, clouds cleared around 8pm and the moon was visible.

I took this picture, with my Nikon P900 superzoom, 2-minutes after midnight. It was 0°F (-18°C). It was cold and I was standing there WITHOUT a jacket. The cold affected the Nikon more than I! This is probably way outside its operating temperature. (I haven’t checked.) The autofocus was struggling and it was handheld. Hence the blur. To be honest, I didn’t really care. It was just this dim, orange disc. So, this is the best, I have. Enjoy.
