This is per my Garmin MARQ Explorer, which I wear 24×7.
There was no pain to talk about
— throughout, from surgery to now.
I am 65-years old, 66 in September. So, this reading today chuffed me up no end, especially since I am still in recovery from major knee surgery. Just 7-weeks ago I was still on crutches. I still walk with a cane (since it helps, though I can walk without one).
Yes, no question, the knee surgery spurred me to new heights. My VO2 Max was ~36 before surgery and I was nearly 20 pounds heavier! Yes, I lost weight while recovering — mainly by totally revamping my diet. That helped. I have only run once after surgery — and that was last week. I ran 3 miles with 800′ of elevation carrying 11 pounds in weights. Felt a few ‘tinges’ in the knee was decided to lay off running for another few weeks. Walking at least 3.5 miles a day and then making sure to clock at least 10K steps a day. Today I did 16K. So, it all helps.
I am happy. Would have preferred not to have busted my quad tendon. But, it was a wake-up call.
So, there is hope … SMILE.
