48-hours ago it was not supported on the new Garmin Fenix 6.

But, as of today, i.e., September 26, 2019, it is. I have it running, well, on my Fenix 6.

Yes, two-days ago I contacted the developer via the link in ‘Connect IQ’.

He e-mailed me this morning. Very nice gentleman. A lecturer in Computer Science in the U.S.

Programs these APPs as a hobby — for fun. That is wonderful. A very nice, generous person.

Try it out.

I have had this APP on my MARQ Expedition for a few months now. Comes in handy. Works well.

    Mr Gurunge

One of the websites that I periodically follow is “Whispers in the Loggia” which tracks the appointments of Catholic prelates. The author of the website sent out an interesting tweet he other day:

What do you think about this? If it is correct I wonder what the thinking is behind this.

I always though that the “titular bishop” concept was related to the fact that being a bishop required a diocese (even if it was a pretend one). Once a titular bishop/archibishop is raised to the cardinalate I can understand that they are not referred to by their titular bishop title anymore. But they don’t stop being a bishop , right? So in that sense they should still be Joe Cardinal Smith but also Bishop of Wherever at the same time right?

It just seems strangely asymmetric since actual bishops/archbishops don’t give up their titles when they become cardinals.

    Any thoughts on this?

Thanks. I used to check this Website in the old days when I had time. He sure does have the INSIDE track. I will check into this. Give me a few days. CRAZY, crazy busy and ‘popes’, alas, are about priority #4. But, this is interesting. THANKS. Have a great weekend.

      Richard,
This would appear to be TRUE. I didn’t think ‘he’ would get it wrong. He is v. much an insider. I checked with my buddy who runs gcatholic.org. Appears that they do, and I agree that it makes no sense. But, here is an example, that was already there … Francesco Monterisi. Notice how he loses the title the day he was created. http://www.gcatholic.org/hierarchy/data/cardB16-3.htm#675 So, you should check it out too. Find a recent cardinal deacon who has a titular bishop. Then check the dates. This was very interesting and illuminating. I had never seen it spelled out! THANKS. All the best, Anura
