I Have DRASTICALLY Cut Back On Wearing Knee Support Compression Sleeves.

I had my major knee surgery to reattach a completely busted quad tendon on March 7, 2019, i.e., roughly 11-months ago.

As soon as I was permitted to walk without crutches — i.e., after 6-weeks — I started a rigorous exercise regime which sees me walking around 7-8 miles a day. To start with I wore a proper brace on my damaged knee. After about 3 months of that I discovered compression sleeves.

I got HOOKED on them. And that was the CLUE.

I got hooked on them.

I wore them on both knees. They were super comfortable, provided great support and made both knees feel great. Pain was never a factor. I lucked out! I was pain free within 2-weeks of surgery. Great surgery and I am strange.

But, this got me thinking.

No gain without pain.

If it is too good to be true.

I think about these things.

Did some research. Yes, I could have continued wearing them, all the time, as I had done.

But, they were REDUCING the muscle & tendon strength I was gaining from all my exercise. Oh! I do 23-minutes on a stationary bike, most days too.

So, I have cut back on using the sleeves. Cut back quite dramatically.

Most days I don’t use them at all, at all. No problem so far. No pain. Knees haven’t buckled.

I do wear them if I conditions underfoot are bad. Want my knees supported if I fall.

So, that is the new regime. Hope this helps.

Do some research. Basically, it boils down to: “too much of a good thing“.
