I have NOT read the original paper, just the science media posts touting it.
I find it presumptuous. For a start we still insist that the Universe is continually expanding. If so, we don’t actually have a handle on how big it is. I also know that we, even with radio telescopes & Hubble, can only see a small part of the Universe. Then there is the claim that the Universe is infinite or close to it.
So, to make this claim based on the LITTLE bit of the Universe we know about seems irresponsible.
What irks me is the undue publicity these studies get, with the sensationalistic tabloid-headlines which do not give the average layman enough context.
I am willing to believe that Dark Matter & Dark Energy COULD account for a v. large part of the Universe. I am just uncomfortable when we try to get this precise based on what I consider to be a very small sampling of data.
Just as he did with disgraced Scot Keith “I Lied” O’Brien in 2013, Francis chickened out at the last minute. He let O’Brien retain his ‘Cardinal’ title though he was NOT a cardinal. STUPID. He was a cardinal in name, but NOT really a cardinal!
Well, we did it again. Ditto, Becciu. He is no longer a cardinal, but is allowed to call himself a cardinal. How stupid. Makes a mockery of that saying that you are either pregnant or not. There is nothing in between.
You are either a cardinal or NOT.
Pope Francis yet again demonstrates he is weak & irresolute.

I happened to see a program that touched upon the 1952 “Great Smog” & was amazed, amused & sobered by what happened then & what happened 68-years ago.
This cracked me up. They was controversy then (as now) as to the effectiveness of wearing masks. Human nature does not change. WOW.
It only lasted 5-days but thousands died. Despite warnings to the Government nothing had been done. Hospitals didn’t have enough equipment & staff. Deja vu all over again. The parallels were quite striking.
