I have nothing against vegans & vegetarians. I actually admire & envy them for their discipline, commitment & virtue. There was a time I wanted to be a vegetarian. Animal conservation is one of my deepest & long-held passions. So, there was a time, way, way back when I felt that I could not be as committed to animal conservation if I continued to eat meat & wear leather.
I am also a REALIST.
I realized very quickly that I could never be a vegetarian, let alone a vegan. Definitely, definitely NOT a vegan. Not meat. Not eggs. Not cakes. Not chocolates. CHEESE. Yes, Cheese. I love cheese. I can live for days on cheese. That said, I no longer eat much cheese! SMILE. I have cut back. Cheese was ONE of my poisons; why I constantly struggle with my weight. Now I only eat cheese every 4th day. 3 days WITHOUT cheese, then a day with cheese & then 3 days of absenteeism. Still need to lose weight, but it helps.
So, this post is not a dig at vegans. One of my BEST friends has been a strict vegan for nearly a year — & he has done real good. But, he is a better man that I (which is NOT difficult).
The only point I want to make is that WE would not be here if our ancestors were vegans. Ditto if they had all been gay. Simple, valid observation & point.
We are WE because of our unique & superior brains — much of that having to do with the size of our brain compared to the size of our body. We have BIG brains.
Meat helped our brains grow.
Maybe they might have grown without meat — BUT we will never know. Our ancestors ate meat with relish. Our brain size started increasing as they started eating meat. Was NOT a coincidence. You get more ‘energy’ from meat than from an equal weight of ‘salad’. Irrefutable.
Just an observation. Just wanted to make sure you had thought about it.
