Garmin Connect APP (2021) NO LONGER Show Monthly Step Totals!

by Anura Guruge

From Garmin Forums. Yes, this is ALSO my gripe.

Click to ENLARGE. You can no longer get the WHOLE month. STUPID.

Click to ENLARGE. Luckily you can still get MONTHLY totals from the PC version.

Garmin has done it AGAIN. Thinking that any & all CHANGE is progress. No. No. Not so.

Why change something that was perfectly good.

I do want to see MONTHLY totals. Now I am screwed. I can’t get that on my phone. I have to logon to the PC version.

STUPID. Stupid.

Uncalled for. Who asked for this.

Give us both. Weekly & Monthly.

Commitment To Walk 500,000+ Steps/Month Means You Have To BRAVE Storms — Even TORRENTIAL Rain.

WOW. It bucketed down today — till mid-afternoon. Torrential rain & gusty winds. WHAT TO DO?

I could have tried waiting until it stopped — BUT then it might be getting dark, & I PREFER to limit my ‘night walks‘ to 2-miles or below. Plus, I wasn’t sure whether the dog wanted to go out. He did NOT. He was NOT having anything to do with this weather.

I, as I had done a month ago, wore TWO layers of outerwear. It kind of works. Outer latey gets soaked.

Snow is ALWAY much better than rain! Trust me. I know. Rain is wet. Snow not as much. When the ground is FROZEN (as it was today) they are BOTH slippery. That was an issue.

I wear the yellow glasses to keep the rain from my eyes. Pretty simple. Logical.

Well, I did 10,589 steps in this rain. SMILE. Felt good. I was SOAKED. But, I think I will live.

Paypal’s Non-Integration With ‘Venmo’ Inexcusable & Inexplicable.

by Anura Guruge

Though I have been using Paypal for over 2-decades I only heard about ‘Venmo’ a couple of days ago — when I had to put down a deposit for our new puppy (who as of today has a name (viz., ‘Rowen’)). The breeder ONLY deals in Venmo.

First thing I discovered was that Paypal OWNS Venmo. Good. I am glad.

I have been a Paypal shareholder since day 1 of their ‘IPO’ (or to be precise split from eBay).

I could NOT pay the breeder via Paypal.

Paypal does NOT recognize the Venmo userID. That is crazy. That is stupid.

I had to install Venmo on my phone in order to send the money. I was NOT amused.
