It was during my nightly, 11pm, 1-mile walk — last night. It was raining & misty. Ideal time for salamanders to come out — especially in Spring.
I was wearing my bright headlamps & I could see ‘it’ SHINING on the road. I KNEW it was not a snake! Way too late in the day for snakes.
I knew it was a salamander though I can’t ever recall seeing that one that long in New Hampshire. What we normally see, quite regularly are small orange salamanders. Again on wet & moist nights like last night.
The above is the ‘Rails‘ watch face — which I have been favoring all day.
The ‘Always On’ displays I have chosen with these two watch faces. The ‘Rails‘ ‘hollow time’ on the left. ‘Data Lover’ is more customizable (though ‘Rails’ does give you the option of always having the full watch face on, all the time).
I customized the 4 data screens you get for ‘Walk’. You can ONLY have 4 fields per screen. I would have preferred the 6 that you can get on the Fenix & Enduro.
I customized the 4 data screens you get for ‘Walk‘. I am quite pleased in that I managed to get in everything I absolutely need, i.e., steps, distance (in miles), elapsed time, time-of-day (TOD).
I am not that fussed about the other fields, though I do occasionally look at my heart rate (HR).
Pace is kind of immaterial in that I am always going as fast as I can … as fast as I want. I am NOT going to increase my pace because of the reading.
I picked ‘heading’ because that was about the only pertinent data field left. I have no interest in calories.
‘Elevation’ is kind of nice to have.
I got this new Venu 2, two-days ago, thanks to my good friends at ‘HRM USA‘. SMILE.
Slim pickings right now, but after what was a long, cold winter it i good to see some COLOR. It is still cold. Hence the delay in more flowers blossoming. I am on the lookout everyday. Not much misses I or my lens. I will keep you posted.
OK. This is but 13′ in 42-years. OK. But, do we know how much it has shifted say over the last 250-years. We know the axis has indeed shifted. We even know that the North & South Poles have traded places more than once.
This study focuses on how climate change has caused the axis to shift.
BUT, the corollary is equal true. A shift in axis will result in climate change!
Think about it. A shift in axis will cause parts of the Earth to warm up or cool down.
And that is just a shift in the axis. We do NOT have a record of how the axis has shifted. Just know that it must have — & has.
I have also repeatedly pointed out that we have NO CLUE, whatsoever, as to how much the Earth’s orbit has changed over the last million years (& I don’t need to go any further back).
A change in orbit will MOST certainly impact climate.
That has always been my point. My only point. I appreciate, fully, that we are seeing Climate Change. But, I want to know, for sure, for sure, what other factors, way, way beyond humans might have been at play.
Wouldn’t you like to know.
All I am advocating is that we do NOT have ALL the facts.
Peace. And as I always like to say: “I would really like some Global Warming up here is still chilly New Hampshire“.
