This grove of trees, on an unused building lot, is just down the road from I — on one of the two roads I can take to leave our house. So, I don’t go by there everyday, but do tend to pass it a few times a week. [Yes, the other road is the ‘main’ one.]
When on foot I invariably stop to admire these trees, They are so tall, straight & standing proud.
This week I saw three trucks on that lot. I knew it wasn’t a good sign. I was right. They cut down the main tree. True, it appears to have lost its top part over the winter. But, STILL it is a shame. But, I guess trees are to be sacrificed. Expendable. Renewable. Right? That is the justification.
