Well, well, well.

I had no idea how old Sony was — or where the name came from. Now, thanks to Wikipedia, I know. “Sonny Boy” — and I can see how they came up with “Walkman” from there.

Over the years I have had lots of Sony products — going back to Betamax. Yes, I was a big adherent of Betamax.

And now Sony cameras. Had three already and the plan is to get two more within the month! And the scary thing is that I am not that sure I like Sony cameras!

But, I have little choice. I am COMMITTED to mirrorless and don’t want to go below APS-C. Yes, Fuji was an option BUT I despaired of Fuji’s lousy autofocus capabilities.

So, it has to be Sony and I have to learn to live with Sony!

The Term ‘Iron Curtain’ Coined By Winston Churchill, This Day, March 5 — 71 Years Ago.

by Anura Guruge

March 5, 1946,
Winston Churchill, then Leader of the Opposition as of July 26, 1945,
at a speech at Westminster College, Missouri, U.S.A.
(Churchill was NOT knighted until 1953.
So he wasn’t a ‘Sir’ when he gave this speech.)

What a GREAT man. One of my abiding heroes and a near daily inspiration.
