You can see the VW, in this clip, around the 1:11-minute mark.
No, I did NOT go looking for it. I am actually not a huge movie buff & though I know I have seen it at least once, I am not sure that I remember it that well, other than that it included baseball.
It was the owner of this bus who told me it was & he was NOT in any way trying to sell it to I or promote it. Actually he was not inclined to sell anything he owned & he owned quite a bit of stuff.
This bus was in a garage next to a U.S. truck (that meant nothing to I (since I am not really into trucks), a red Cadillac Allantéwith a busted roof (& roof engine) plus two Corvettes. I was vaguely interested in the Allanté. It was too small for I when I had young kids. Now things are different, BUT I do NOT want another old car. Three is enough for I, at least for now.
So, I did a bit of validation before writing this post. As you can see in the above clips the VW bus in the movie had its spare tire mounted on its nose (as was fairly common). The VW I saw did NOT have a tire on its nose. Looking at the pictures I can see that some body work has been done to the nose. So it is possible that the tire mount was removed at a later date.
