‘Chick-Fil-A’, At Albany (New York) Airport Will Deliver — Albeit Just In The Airport.

I don’t think I have ever had ‘Chick-Fil-A’. So, I am NOT sure what I am missing. Yes, I have heard stories. I just looked. The nearest one to I is in Nashua, which is 90-minutes away. Hhhhm! The next time I am down South I will have to keep an eye.

I heard the story about these College kids that desperately wanted some ‘Chick-Fil-A’ chicken, on my radio, during my morning walk. That it was Albany Airport resonated. I think I have only flown into Albany Airport once (and I am sure I have never flown out of it). But, that was a pretty special flight for I. One I still remember — 52-years later. Yes, it was in 1968! 52-years ago. So, why was it so special. First airport I ever flew to on MY OWN. I was 14. Not sure exactly how it came to be. We, my adoptive parents and I, were travelling in New York state — we living in Buffalo, NY, 1967-1968. We were in NY city, by car. We were driving back to Buffalo, via Albany. Somehow my father had a ticket Albany, which he didn’t want or need. I convinced him to let me use the ticket and fly from LaGuardia to Albany — and for them to pick me up. He agreed. It was to be my Summer adventure. First flight on my own. I had been flying, frequently, all my life. But never on my own. It worked out. It was an adventure. I waited at Albany for them to arrive. So, that was the main reason this story piqued my interest. ‘My’ airport. I am sure there was no ‘Chick-Fil-A’ in 1968.

These kids should have had the gumption to first call up ‘Chick-Fil-A’ before they pooled their money to buy that $98 ticket.

‘Chick-Fil-A’ would have brought the food out for them. Now we all know. I am sure they are going to be doing a roaring business — following this publicity and now that everyone knows that they will deliver.

Only in America.

I Agree With Trump, Raul Castro Snubbed President Obama & The U.S. By Refusing To Greet Him At The Airport.

As you might be able to imagine, I, not white by a long chalk, don’t agree with the ‘Duck‘ on many things — though I think we are fairly compatico when it comes to having no sympathy with illegals (given that I experience all the ‘bad things’ legals have to endure because of the illegals).

But I agree with the ‘Duck’ that this was a DEFINITE, calculated SNUB.

It was a bloody historic visit at so many different levels. IF Castro had a policy that he NEVER meets a Head of State off the plane I would be 100% fine with that. As the adopted son of an Ambassador (the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the U.S. to boot) I do understand and appreciate diplomatic protocol.

But Casto was at the airport to meet Pope Francis and Castro is said to be an atheist (in public).

NOT RIGHT.

If the White House knew this before hand they should have complained.

IF it was a surprise Obama should have turned back, got back on Air Force One and flown back.

Whatever you may think about the ‘Duck’ you know, and I know, that he would be capable of turning back and leaving the Cuban’s with their mouths agape.

Some Ice Fishing On Alton Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH, January 24, 2016 — BUT Laken Is Not All Frozen.

Some ice fishing bob houses and activity on Alton Bay, Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire on Sunday, January 25, 2016. But no vehicles on the ice let alone any planes!

Exactly a week ago this area of the Bay was devoid of any bob houses. Those these have been pushed out just this last week. Nothing compared to this time last year — when we had the runway in place.

Lake Winnipesaukee definitely not frozen totally, i.e., no ice-in as yet. Temperatures over the next 3 days are going to be above freezing during the day. Also supposed to get RAIN on Tuesday. That will definitely hinder any serious icing.

So this could be the 4th year, since they started keeping records some 170 years ago, that Lake Winnipesaukee hasn’t totally frozen over and ALL of these four instances have been as of 2001!

A Wedding Haka From New Zealand To Add To The Airport Haka.

by Anura Guruge

wedding haka

Click to access must watch YouTube video of wedding hakka posted Friday, January 22, 2016.

We at this household are addicted to hakas especially those done by New Zealanders. Our YouTube channel on the Roku 3 has ‘Haka’ high up in the search list. I saw this in the U.K. “Daily Mail” — which I read, on my Android tablet, first thing in the morning, with coffee, before getting out of bed. I knew I had to share it with YOU. I guess hakas are going to get commonplace in New Zealand if this goes on. The airport haka to welcome the Rugby World Cup winners was great. This wedding haka is as good. Enjoy.

ApostolicNunciature

The book has a LOT to say about the Nunciature. Check it out.

Presidents have met prior popes at airports. Regan met John Paul II twice at airports in Alaska — when both of them were enroute, by plane.

George W. Bush welcomed Benedict XVI at Andrews on April 15, 2008.

Obama is emulating that though it is NOT the norm for a president to greet an arriving pope or Head of State at the airport.

List of the prior Pope-U.S. President meetings. It is FROM the book.
