Not sure how many people realize that he was British. Many may not know or care that he was knighted and as such was Sir Chaplin as of 1975 — two years prior to his death.

He was banned from the U.S. suspected of Communist sympathies. Quite the life. Eventful to say the least.

Given that I used to be a stellar customer, sending multiple cakes to Sri Lanka multiple times a year for multiple years, I still regular e-mails from Kapruka. I do enjoy seeing what they are up to.

This hoverboard  item, cutely relabelled as ‘Smart Drifting Scooter‘, caught my eye.

It was the same one that I had tried to buy last Christmas and was foiled. Except I paid EXACTLY $100 more.

This is funny.

Two things to consider. Most Sri Lankan houses, that could afford such a scooter, would be built out of concrete. So not as flammable as U.S. wooden structures.

Two Sri Lankan lives, being Third World, are still considered more expendable.

But this is NOT cricket.

Bit naughty of Kapruka. They are NOT ‘playing the white man‘ — and they should be.

prassadIn over 50 years of following cricket I have never seen anything so grotesquely crude as Sri Lanka’s Dhammika Prasad haring after India’s Ishant Sharma — itching for a confrontation. It just was not cricket. I watched it, on Willow, speechless. I couldn’t believe he was NOT suspended on the spot. Actually he was not suspended at all. Just fined 50% of his match fees. That is nothing. This was diabolical. This brought disrepute to cricket. He should be banned. I am appalled.
