Wow. Wow. WOW! What a story. There is no indication that some, if not all, of this ‘twisted’ story is based on real facts. I am torn on that. The implication that it is fictional — & WHAT a story it is. I am AWE as to how somebody could weave all of this in such a manner.
Gripping is an understatement.
I really haven’t given surrogacy much thought — over my life. So, I really can’t relate to the moral & ethical aspects of it. To I it seems like a fairly reasonable ‘deal’.
Trust me on this. This is QUITE the story. I even opted to finish watching Episode 4 rather than cricket. That happens very rarely. SMILE.
They have the MOST exquisite of choirs. Trust me on this.
This will be GOOD. That is a given. That is a guarantee.
Just get BritBox for a month, JUST for this. Britbox is an unique collaboration between the BBC & ITV to deliver British shows overseas. Yes, we have a subscription, have had it for nearly a year, love it and use it multiple times a week.
You will THANK ME for this recommendation.
From a prior year, on YouTube, for FREE.

As I explained in this post, last week, for the last 10-months I have started listening to the radio during my 2-hours a day of walking/light jogging. Helps me deal with the time. I just listen to local FM stations — NHPR/NPR (on 89.1 or 90.1) and music. Nothing too esoteric. Now that the BBC doesn’t transmit on SW, I have no use, whatsoever, for SW.
I had bought a fake ‘Grundig’ from ‘Eton Corp.’ to meet my needs. It was a decent radio. Good reception. Good sound. But, it was big, heavy and bulky. I could carry it around but it felt like lugging a brick. Then I found this on Amazon. $13? I pay that much for exotic drinks at Chinese restaurants. I could afford $13. So, I got one.
Well, you can see my review. I was blown away and I am not the only one raving. It is not fancy. Just FM and basically manual tuning — albeit with the radio auto-locating all the available stations. The stereo sound with earbuds is beyond amazing.
If you are in the market for a great FM radio, check this out. You will not be dissapointed.
I had absolutely no idea that this was indeed the case — and, moreover, has been since July 2001. 18-years ago. WOW.
Another casualty of the Internet.
Yes, in from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s I had fancy (i.e., expensive) Sony SW receivers so I could listen to the BBC on SW — primarily to get cricket scores.
Yes, it is also true that once I could get cricket score on the Interweb (via. say ‘cricinfo‘) I lost interest in fiddling around with SW.
I just go myself a small radio from Amazon today so that I can EASILY listen to NPR during my walks. [I am off-crutches after 6-weeks and intend to do a fair amount of walking.] It had SW has a bonus. So, I was looking forward to listening to BBC on SW. Well, I guess that is not going to happen.
P.S., It was cheaper to get this $24 radio than messing around trying to get FM on my Google Pixel 2.

I happened, serendipitously, catch a trailer, on PBS, and knew, at once, that I had to watch this. Everything I like — all-things-British, period drama, innovation, aviation — in one movie. I have set the DVR to record.
Up here in the Northeast it is on Boston WGBH Channel 44 — their auxiliary channel to the main Channel 2. You will have to check the PBS listing in your area. It is at 8pm on Thanksgiving— Thursday, November 22, 2018.
Given that it is BBC produced it is bound to be superlative. The BBC, as YOU know, rarely lets the side down.

Somewhere around Friday, each week, I check PBS ‘primetime’ to make sure that I have the DVR set to record all shows of interest. This series, “The Woman in White” was being shown at 10pm on Sunday — which is usually NOT a slot reserved for promising masterpieces. But, the title alone was captivating. I hit the ‘Record Series’ button. I am sure glad I did.
We watched it today. It is GOOD. Echoes of Jane Eyre — and that is praise indeed. Teischan (12) actually said out loud that she liked it! She is hard to please and coming from her, this was also praise indeed.
You should still be able to catch Episode 1 on TV (if nothing else on Saturday night) or online. Definitely worth seeing. Looks very promising.
It is from the BBC. They don’t make too many duds.
