So graceful and svelte, even TODAY.

A later model than the one that would have flown in 1958.

One of my TOP 3 FAVORITE planes — ever! Yes, top 3, even after all these years.

I think, though I can’t be 100% sure of that, it’s VERY BIG brother, the Boeing 747 Jumbo, is probably my all time favorite. But, push comes to shove, it might still be the Boeing 707.

The 707 was the first jet I ever flew in — on August 27, 1967, when we left Ceylon (forever, for all of us, as it would turn out to be) for Buffalo, U.S.A. That whole trip, which was in multiple legs, Colombo – Athens, Athens -Rome, Rome – Paris, Paris – London & finally London – New York was on 707s. From then on I flew in 707s quite a bit until the 747 came along. I flew on a 747, for the first time, in June 1970.

There are 707 still in service.

59-years ago. Just think back.
