Ludicrous To Believe That THE Queen Could Be At Any Risk Whatever Happens To Brexit.

I am a believer and proponent of contingency plans for contingency plans, but this is ludicrous. Us the British would never put this Queen, especially at her age, at any risk. She is respected, admired and beloved. They might protest, mightily, around Parliament and Downing Street, but not outside Buckingham Palace. They also know that the Queen did her best. Brexit has nothing to do with the Queen.

This is not WW II and even then her parents, to their eternal credit, refused to leave London. There is no way this Queen is going to get bundled out of London. If you have been watching ‘Victoria’, on PBS, you will know that her husband made her leave London when there was potential trouble and she rued that she did so. She came back in a hurry. Well my Queen is not going to make that mistake. This is stupid. Wasted time.

Couldn’t MI6 Have Made Prince Harry A Better ‘Smart’ Ring Than Finnish Oura?

by Anura Guruge

Was kind of amused to read (and see) that Prince Harry, who is proving (yet again) to be HUGE hit downunder, is now sporting an expensive, Oura ‘Balance’ ring that monitors sleep and activity.

That is good that he is wearing a tracker. But, an Oura that does SO LITTLE! That is neither here nor there. He should be wearing a Garmin Fenix 5 Plus. Now that IS a man’s tracker.

But, in his case …. He is Royalty. He can call up MI6.

Just think of what MI6 could give you in a ring? Wow.

Maybe MI6 will read this, contact me and send me a RING.

Buckingham Palace knows how to get in touch with me.

Maybe if MI6 gives me a ring I will give my nearly new Garmin Fenix 5 Plus to Prince Harry.

I Got A Letter From ‘Buckingham Palace’.

by Anura Guruge

This was in response to the letter I sent to the Queen on May 24, 2018. I always knew, without an inkling of doubt, that I would get a reply — even if it took a few months.

It came today in the mail. As soon as I saw the envelope I knew what it was.

I am NOT going to divulge what was in the letter. That would be ‘bad form’ from a British gentleman. I am happy.

I love the envelope. For those of you not familiar the “E II R” with the little crown on top is the Queen’s crest. The ‘E R‘ stands, in Latin, for ‘Elizabeth Regina‘ (Queen Elizabeth) and the II is because she is ‘Queen Elizabeth II‘.

Postmarked ‘Buckingham Palace‘.

Love the now hardly ever used BLUE ‘Par Avion’ sticker. We don’t use it because mail no longer goes by sea across the Atlantic.

Made my day.

My Letter To The Queen Was Successfully Delivered To Buckingham Palace.

by Anura Guruge

This is a very serious matter to I. Which is why I wrote, extremely respectfully, to the Queen.

I now know that the letter, at a minimum, was safely (I trust) delivered to Buckingham Palace — by the trusty ‘Royal Mail’.

I know that somebody of semi-import will cast their eyes on it.

Not sure what will happen after that.

I am hoping that it will make it at least to one of the Queen’s Private Secretaries.

I am HOPING to hear back, but I am not holding my breath. If I indeed get any correspondence I will, of course, share with YOU.

Pretty prompt delivery. I mailed it around 3pm on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Alton Post Office.

It left Newark, NJ on Saturday, May 26, 2018. So, it missed the U.S. holiday on Monday.

So, 6-days from Alton, NH to Buckingham Palace isn’t too bad. I am cool with that — though I have to confess it was NOT cheap. I am so glad e now have e-mail and Facebook. International postal rates are a killer.

I Wrote To The Queen About The Kraut Wagon At The Royal Wedding.

by Anura Guruge

I was NOT joking when I said that I was upset at the Princes arriving in Windsor in a German wagon.

So, I wrote to the Queen!

That is what she is there for and I did NOT become a monarchist if I did NOT believe I could call upon my Royals when I perceive that a wrong has been done.

I am actually sure that this letter will get some attention. It might never make it to the Queen but somebody at Buckingham Palace will take note. I sent it ‘certified’ etc.

I was NOT going to let it pass.

This is important stuff and I KNOW that I will find an ear in the Palace.

I know one thing for sure. Nobody seeing the letter will accuse me of disrespect or not been a patriot. The letter is clear that this is a matter of patriotism.

I have faith in this Queen. It took me a long time to get there and there.

I will, of course, keep you posted.

Sumptuous Virtual Tour Of The Queen’s “Buckingham Palace” By U.K. Government.

I gather Google was involved in producing this lavish, annotated, 360° tour. Of course they are only showing a very limited subset of a subset of this huge, rambling Palace — for obvious reasons (security the paramount concern). I was impressed. Wanted to make sure you knew about it.

I can’t articulate it, given that my English (as you know, is not that good), but I can’t help but think that this is the ideal British holiday for the ‘Tea Party’ to make their own in the U.S. Tea or no-tea you could never associate them with anything as traditional as ‘Boxing Day’. But, this would work.
