No Sympathy For Jeff Bezos; 53-Year Old Who Does ‘Dick Pictures’ Deserves To Be Exposed.

by Anura Guruge

Why Jeff Bezos, 53-years old & the world’s richest man, felt a need to send ‘dick pictures’ confounds me.

He is 53. Has 4 kids.

I am not joking. I just don’t get it. He is past middle-age. Why does he feel a need to send ‘dick pictures’?

He totally deserved to be exposed!

Shameless.

I think he has issues. Something has got to be wrong. I am pretty sure that most 53-year old men do not send ‘dick pictures’.

He should be so ashamed of himself. Doesn’t matter that it is claimed that he has a BIG ‘dick’. He should not be sending ‘dick pics’. He is old enough to be grandfather.

I feel bad of his kids. One of them an adopted Chinese.

What he did was so wrong. A sick man.

18,000 Kids In New Hampshire JUST Lost Their CHIP Health Insurance TODAY! Did YOU KNOW?

by Anura Guruge

This is from Vox.com. Just Google ‘CHIP program’ for more. Click to ENLARGE and be amazed.

This is from MSNBC. Click image to ENLARGE and read.

I am a news junkie and follow the news, right throughout each day on TV and online. BUT, that CHIP was about to expire on September 30, 2017 somehow missed my attention.

Well it expired today. Happen to hear about it, at noon today, while I was getting ready for the day after my run.

No, my kids are NOT on CHIP, but I am sure I know some who are.

It would appear that this is TEMPORARY.

If CHIP is gone it could be extremely serious.

This is a major heads-up.

Social Security (SSA) Child Benefits — Allow At Least 4 Months (If NOT Longer).

by Anura Guruge

ssachildbenefits

I wanted (make that ‘needed’) my Social Security (SSA) retirement as soon as I turned 62 in September 2015.

I had been waiting/planning for that for years. Per the SSA recommendation (of doing so 3 months ahead of time) I applied, in person, for my September 2015 retirement in early June 2015. I made an appointment at the local Concord, NH office and went and met with them. It was very smooth and pleasant (and I sang their praises). There were a couple of small wrinkles and I was very glad that I could deal with these in person rather than online. The two ‘wrinkles’ having to do with a minute monthly pension I get from the U.K. and the fact that I am divorced (and as such have an ex-wife). The Concord office dealt with these real well. They also told us, though we already knew, that the two kids, 9 & 14 at the time, were entitled to MORE benefits. Deanna has been disabled for years and the kids were receiving benefits through her. The Concord office, however, was very clever in not saying ANYTHING as to how much the kids would get when my retirement kicked in. To be fair they were also vague about how much my retirement would be because it had to be offset by that minute pension from the U.K. But it was all good …

I knew I would not get my first payment until November. I had seen that online and I am GLAD that I had because it did not come as a surprise when I was officially told that though I turn 62 in September my first payment would be in November. I think unless your birthday is on the 1st of the month there is always this ‘2 month’ delay BECAUSE you are only entitled AFTER the first FULL month after you turn 62 (65 or whatever age you elect after 62).

So I applied, in person, in June and within 2 weeks we had sorted out the two ‘wrinkles’. Around August I got a letter stating that I would start receiving my benefits as of the 2nd TUESDAY of November 2015. That was cute. Yes, SSA normally pays benefits on Wednesday. But the 2nd Wednesday of 2015 was November 11, Veteran’s Day, and a Federal Holiday. No mention of the child benefits. I also set up my SSA online account BUT neither I nor Deanna can access the kid’s benefits because they have their own SS numbers. Around September 11 I called Concord to see IF they could give me an update on the Child Benefits. They would only talk to me if Deanna was on the call since the kids, at that point, were linked to her account. Not a problem. In September they had NO news. Told us to call back in a month. So we called again in October, November and December. Always mid-month, around the 11th. No news BUT they continued to get the benefits they were getting through Deanna in October & December.

Deanna’s December payment, as always was on the 4th Wednesday — December 23, 2015. NO PAYMENTS FOR THE KIDS! No letter. Nothing. Boom. 2 days before Christmas. No payment. Bit of a blow, but luckily we could weather it. Called Concord again. As ever VERY NICE. Very helpful. But they had no idea. They, like us, were amazed that we had not had a letter.

The only news mid-January was that they were STILL calculating the new kids benefits! No payment January.

Called again mid-February. Ahhh! They had an update. They even had a tentative number! Said that payments would resume in March — 4th week.

Well on the 4th THURSDAY of February two payments arrived — back pay going back to November.

I just thought I should chronicle this in case any of YOU are waiting for Child benefits. The patience of Job helps.

It is crazy. I also came to realize that maybe they don’t get this that often with retirement — as opposed to disability, i.e., folks with kids under 18. Yes, it is not uncommon, of course, but we are definitely not in the majority. Hope this helps.

The Concord, NH SSA office is MAGIC. Very, very, very helpful BUT they can only report on what is taking place in Baltimore or in our case Philadelphia.

Well, as I have shared with YOU a few times I applied for my Social Security pension now that I (to my utter amazement) lived to see 62. I don’t care what all the so called experts claim, I was NOT going to wait a day beyond my 62nd birthday. Waiting any longer seems very stupid and shortsighted. As the saying goes: “A bird in bed is worth four at the bar”.

I went to the local Social Security office, in Concord, in June, and did all the paperwork. Yes, they made me jump through some hoops but I managed.

I was TOLD that since I had two eligible kids under 18 that they too can get some of the benefits. I did not complain. I, over the years, had paid a lot of money into SSA.

Well, I have yet to see a check (let alone a proper cheque) BUT my first one is said to be on Wednesday, November 10, 2015. There were some scuffles along the way but eventually it appeared that I was all set. I do have a letter to say that — though I know it means diddly.

So that was June. We are now in October. 4 months.

Not a word about the kids benefits.

We have called 3 times — and it has to be ‘WE’ since they will only tell Deanna the information about the kids!

Last but one time we called, in September, we were told that ‘they’ will start looking into the kids’ benefits on October 8, 2015. On Monday, October 26 we called.

We were told that they have to MANUALLY compute the benefits because Deanna is on disability and that this could take 3 months to complete.

That blows my mind.

How can any computation, even by hand, take 3 months? We are talking about computing the value of Pi to trillion decimal points.

This is beyond STUPID.

Tell me the parameters and I will create an Excel spreadsheet for them in a few hours.

Amazing. Amazing.

Took both kids, together, to our dentist for their scheduled 6-month cleaning and checkup. As is the new wont the hygienist made a big deal of telling you, and the kids, as to what they will be doing during the visit. I heard twice, given that their were two kids, that they would finish the visit with a “vitamin application”. I was intrigued. I had never heard of that procedure before — “vitamin application”.

Given that I go in with Teischan I got to see what they were doing. At the very end, she peels the cover off a small packet of liquid and start applying the liquid to Teischan’s teeth with a Q-tip. Well that did NOT look like the application of a ‘conventional’ vitamin, say ‘D’ or ‘E’.

So I asked her how the vitamin was going to get ingested by the body through the tooth enamel. She started to blush and stammer. She admitted that it was not a vitamin. To be fair to her IT WAS. Fluoride is a vitamin. So they were NOT lying to us. Just, at best, being ‘cute’ — at worst being deceptive. She admitted that it was a fluoride varnish. In the past they used to be all ga-ga about applying this fluoride finish. They never called it a vitamin. It was always fluoride this and fluoride that.

Now it is a vitamin — and NO mention of fluoride.

This is NOT right.

Parents should be TOLD what it is that they are applying and given the option to OPT out.

I am not sure whether I would have opted out. I am NOT convinced about fluoride. I have better teeth than most with nary a cavity and there was no fluoride when I was growing up.

So a HEADS UP. Ask your dentist what exactly they are putting in YOUR KID’S mouth.

Our school, Alton Central School (ACS), is offering this FREE flu vaccine program and this morning Deanna was filling in the approval and acceptance forms. She wanted me to publicize this program — which I am now doing, though I am a bit worried about doing so! Why, because the ‘Local Control‘ fanatics may jump on this, as they have about the innocuous ‘Common Core‘, and try and stop it! I am actually amazed that NH has this very enlightened and beneficial program. I am surprised that they haven’t been forced to scrap it on fears that the kids were being injected with mind-drugs from D.C. or even microchips to monitor their activity (à la the infamous ‘Common Core biometric bracelet’).

I will be fair. We are but recent converts to flu vaccination. I didn’t see a need for it, until I nearly died (or to be more precise was nearly killed) two years ago. Have been getting it since, plus I am now a senior. Since Teischan has my constitution and is prone to colds, coughs, wheezes, asthma, bronchitis etc. etc. we decided to get her the shot too. And with the three of us getting the shot, Devanee, who just hates needles, wasn’t going to escape — if nothing else to hear her SCREAM when she gets pricked. She brings the whole place to a momentary halt — her screech so dramatic.

Yes, we know that you can get the flu for FREE at many clinics. Yes, we once got it for free at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Lebanon when we were there for another appointment for Deanna’s back. Yes, we also know that most health insurances cover it.

But, it is best if this can be done at school for FREE. So we are very happy though I have a sinking feeling that this will be the next program voted out by our dysfunctional, misguided School Board. If they do, may they be beset with the pox.

Growing up in Ceylon, in the late 1950s and early 1960s, we used to get free, compulsory vaccinations at school. One of them was for polio — the sugarcube vaccine. It was a BIG government sponsored propaganda programs. Ceylon’s school children being vaccinated to eradicate polio. We were all told to wear our ‘Sunday’ best. They took pictures of us lined up to get the sugarcubes. There was black-and-white news footage. My adoptive uncle, a doctor, then the Director of Medicine for Ceylon was the mastermind behind this anti-polio drive. Many decades later, having met folks in the U.S., my age, with polio, I found out that we were the ‘they are wogs, so they don’t count’ human guinea pigs for the sugarcube polio vaccine. I don’t mind — I guess because none of us got hurt. Actually we did good. As I said, I have seen more polio in this country than I ever did in Ceylon. So it is OK that my adoptive uncle, quite a man, still one of my heroes, volunteered us (including his own sons) for this testing. I never got to ask him. So, I am not sure whether he fully knew that we were the guinea pigs. It is possible that it was presented to him as one of the MANY foreign aid benefits that we used to get in those days — since we were a leading non-aligned nation (meaning we gladly took aid from all sides).

I have not played it. But, it looks quite funny. I do NOT have a problem with it. That ‘dripping gold’, ‘all show, little substance’ pope’s attitude about the whole sex abuse crisis bothered me much and I wrote about it all the time. I gather they are outraged about this game in Spain, but I have not heard of any fuss in the U.S., as yet.

I continue to be on the lookout for New Year’s Eve 2012 celebration opportunities in NH beyond those that I have already discussed, that are taking place in: Wolfeboro, Manchester and Portsmouth.

I found another. Santa’s Village, Partybation, in Jefferson, NH. It looks interesting.

I have only been to Santa’s Village once, and that was 2 years ago. I was surprised by how far it was. Beautiful ride, but ‘WoW’. It was like an hour beyond ‘Story Land‘ in Jackson. If I was up there, I might consider the drive. Plus, I know that there are a lot of adults, thanks to fond childhood memories of the place, who love going there. So, this might be an option for them. It is $27 for adults. Seems a tad on the high side given the location. Plus it does not go on until midnight. Finishes at 9pm. So most folks will be on the road at midnight! But, here is a sneak preview.

It appears, as far as I can see, that Wolfeboro and Portsmouth are the only two places in New Hampshire doing a ‘First Night’. But, hope eternal, I keep on looking for other events. I happened to stumble, serendipitously upon this: Noon Year’s Eve, a celebration aimed at kids 12 hours before the actual eve.

It sounds like a lot of fun. It is lovely museum. I, however, don’t think we will make it. Kind of committed, mentally, to Wolfeboro and trying do this also will be too much for all (except me). But, if you have no other plans, and want to do something rewarding with the kids, I would definitely think about this.
