The U.K. Gets Its First Conviction On A ‘Female Genital Mutilation’ (FGM) Case.

This is good news, but at the same time very sad and frustrating.

Yes, this mutilation of a then 3-year old girl, of African parents, happened in 2017. What is infuriating is that it is still happening, even in the U.K.

Getting convictions have been hard and it is likely that they would not have succeeded in the U.S.!

I am against any and all forms of bodily mutilation — whether it be circumcision, tattoos or piercings — even ear-piercing. I have refused to let my daughters get their ears pierced until they were 12 and old enough to know what they were doing. Actually, I would never consent to it, but they gang up on me. As for circumcision — I consider that child abuse. No parent has the right to circumcise their son. Period.

Well, given that I dedicated my 2015 “Orgasms 101” book to those trying to eradicate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), my stance on this is crystal clear. It is barbaric and I can’t even understand how a mother could do it.

This is but a painful first step. I just wish we could eradicate it …. Period.

The ‘Bush’ Is Thriving — And That Makes Me Happy!

From a few years back. Click to access post. But, I was rooting for the bush even then — actually all my adult life.

I won’t beat around … well, the bush. It is something that I have been passionately in favor of all my adult life.

I believe that you shouldn’t try to fight evolution. That there must have been a reason why we have things in the places we do, and that we should let evolution do its things, wherever possible (bar wisdom teeth). I am against tattoos and circumcision too — vehemently in the case of the latter.

I never really understood why people found it distasteful; same for foreskins. So, I am glad and now (yet again) I seem to be in good company.

We need a new name for the look — to denote that it is the anti-Brazilian. It needs to be fuzzy and friendly. How about the ‘Canadian’?

What can I say — other than it is always good to see a cause you passionately believe in getting favor and publicity.

Yes, yes, yes. About time, too.

I am against tattoos and circumcision too — vehemently in the case of the latter.

Yes, I have a grin on my face. You should too.

What can I say?

I am against tattoos and circumcision too — vehemently in the case of the latter. I also, much to the chagrin of the wife, do not get my haircut that often either and have stopped going to see a dental hygienist to get my teeth cleaned. [My teeth are good. Thank you. {Grin}. Have you ever seen them?]

Would You Get Operated By A HEAVILY Tattooed Surgeon?

by Anura Guruge

Just an EXAMPLE.

Not the real thing — i.e., THE surgeon.

Don’t get TOO excited. No, no … I do NOT need any surgery at present, as far as I know. This was NOT for I.

Yes, I know I am strange. I have never shied away from that.

If this surgery was for I, there would be no question. I would have got up walked out and while doing so told the surgeon, in no uncertain terms, that I was not amused that HE wasted my time.

I already told you that I am strange … right.

One of my many foibles is a rabid aversion to any form of body mutilation and alteration.

Other than cutting my hair and nails, I refuse to have any other — medically unnecessary — alterations done to my body. Yes, I had to have some teeth extracted and I only consented under pain and duress.

I, despite my cultural upbringing, am against ear piercing! My adoptive mother, 29-years ago, was aghast that I would not have my newly born daughter’s ears pierced. She had arrived with a pair of gold earrings. I told her that I did NOT have the right to mutilate my daughter.

As all three of my daughters will tell you, in a mixture of glee and dismay, I have NEVER consented to them getting their ears pierced.

To say that I am against circumcision is an understatement. I think that any parent who gets their child circumcised is a CHILD ABUSER and I will tell that to their face — and I have told so to many a parent!

So, suffice to say, I am not a fan of tattooing!

Yes, my wife has one, but it is small, it is on her ankle and it is of the Sun. I don’t have to see it often. She had it done before we met. Yes, I made an exception. But, I will NOT let her perform any surgery on I, either.

To, I it all has to do with the state of one’s mind.

I am fine with the way my body is. My body is a mess and can be greatly enhanced and embellished BUT I will not resort to that. I am happy to live with what I got.

A surgeon with EXTENSIVE tattoos looks unprofessional!

I question is judgement and IF I meet him again I will ask him that to his face.

I already asked him a couple of questions he did NOT appreciate and he decided to get in MY FACE to respond. What he did not realize that folks like him scare me none.

So, that is my view. I would NOT TRUST a professional with extensive tattoos. Period.

Call me strange. That I am.

But, I have my standards and I live by them.

Over to you

Sri Lanka Independence — Let Us ALSO Celebrate Our Freedom From Circumcision.

by Anura Guruge

Sri Lanka, at below 9%, has one of the lowest circumcision rates in the World.

circumcisison slstats

This is a GOOD thing.

This is kind of very personal to I since I was born with a fused (stuck together) foreskin. My ‘pee’ wouldn’t come out.

In any other country they would have just circumcised me. Not so in Ceylon in 1953. They used coconut oil! Yes, coconut oil …

Boy, am I grateful.

Where I Get My Irreverent Sense Of Humor — It Is A Very British Thing.

….
by Anura Guruge

I often get told off, mainly by my wife, about my very off-beat sense of humor. Though those that have had the misfortune to follow my writings over the years (and, alas, I have written much) have been shocked and delighted in equal part as to how naughty I can be, with a straight face. I have always maintained that this wicked (in the truest sense of the word) sense of humor was a very British thing. I just saw proof of it, and it cracked me up — especially as it is a word I use often.

This was in ‘The Economist‘ no less. ‘The Economist‘ is an highbrow, well respected British publication that has been in continuous print since 1843. (So that is from before the Civil War for those whose history starts with the advent of Google).

This was brilliant. Thank you. Made my day. Completely stopped me in my tracks. I was actually writing about the new style rings that were given to the six cardinals that were created on Saturday.

This was on the front page of 'The Economist' Website. Click image (where ever it grabs your fancy) to access this august British publication.

It will be available from Amazon (U.S. & U.K.) as of Christmas Day, which is a shame because some might have wanted this for Christmas.

Note to wife: ‘No dear, I don’t want this for Christmas. God didn’t draw mine anyway, as you know. I think my parents did a fairly good job with the artwork.

I don’t have this book, but I have read quite a bit about it. This is a book that I would like as many people to read, since this is a topic that I am fervent about. No, circumcision is not practiced in Sri Lanka, thank God.

If you are buying books, it is indeed perfectly acceptable if you buy some of mine. I could do with some royalties.
