If Obama Was A Precedent, Pope Francis’ Rebuke Of Trump Should Guarantee The Bully The Presidency!

Despite my 10 books on popes one of the many things I have yet to fathom about popes is that despite their official title of “Christ’s Vicar on Earth“, Vicarius Christi, popes appear to be extremely impotent when it comes to influencing elections.

Obama’s reelection in 2012 was a graphic example of this impotency. Pope Benedict, his Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops, around the World, railed against Obama and his supposed infringement of religious rights (mainly because of the birth control provisions within Obamacare). Pope Benedict openly rebuked the sitting President. But he was reelected by a landslide. So if that was a precedent, Trump will do well stoking a nasty quarrel with the current pope, Francis.
