Welcome Yule!

MY Favorite Day of the Year.

Days start to get Longer.

The Winter Solstice, the SHORTEST DAY of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.

Evenings have ALREADY started to get longer — as of December 12, 2019!

It is sunrise that continues to be tardy.

Notice that sunrise does NOT get earlier following the Solstice!

If anything it continues to get later and later.

It is LATER SUNSETS that are making the daylight longer.

Sunrise does not start getting earlier until January.

Welcome Yule!

In the spirit of Revels I give YOU, in peace,
Dona Nobis Pacem‘ (Grant us peace)
for the Winter Solstice.

Just for the record, compared to the 2016 Solstice, which was also on December 21, we have 3 extra seconds of DAYLIGHT. Wow. Rejoice.

Welcome Yule!

Today, December 12, Shortest Evening Of 2017 In New Hampshire — Evenings Get Longer From Then ….

by Anura Guruge

Yes, today, December 12th will be the earliest sunset of 2017 — in New Hampshire.

NOT the shortest day. That is the Winter Solstice on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Still 9-days to go.

But, today is the shortest evening.

There is a difference.

Sunrise and Sunset times, leading up to the Solstice, are NOT ‘symmetrical’.

Sunrise still continues to get later and later till the 21st. Then they reverse.

Check the annotated table above.

We only have 3 minutes MORE, in total, to lose. Wow.

So, rejoice. The END of these depressing early evenings.

By Christmas evenings will be a full 5-minutes later. WOW.

They are: the ‘National Orgasm Day’ on July 31st, the Día Internacional del Orgasmo Femenino’ [‘International Day of the Female Orgasm’] on August 8th and the ‘Global Orgasm Day (for Peace)’ on the Northern Hemisphere Winter Solstice (which is on December 21st in 2016).

As soon as they started talking about this FAA drone registration program, in anger, in the media, last week I noticed that there was NEVER any mention of model, make and serial number. That seemed incongruous. So today I went checking. You can see what I found — on the first image above.

The FAA does not ask for Make, Model or Serial Number.

That is very strange. I have never encountered a product registration that did not want the product specifically identified.

So this is basically a program to TRACK drone OWNERS.

Also puzzled that they do NOT mention Permanent Residents (i.e., Green Card Holders). Permanent Residents can LEGALLY own (and register) firearms in the U.S. So it would be strange if a Permanent Resident can register a semi-automatic weapon BUT NOT a drone! Aaah!

I, always wanting to be on the safe and legal side, checked the weight of our UDI U818As (and yes, we have two). 4.2 ounces + 2.1 ounces for the battery = 6.3 ounces (178.6 gram). So we are well under the 0.55 (8.8 ounce, 250 gram) weight limit.
