This proved to be an incredibly good and endearing animated movie.

The animation was top notch and I just assumed it was Disney. It was not. This is a Canadian movie with French collaboration.

The animation, especially the fast-paced sequences are as good as anything done by Disney or Dreamworks — possibly better!

Usual Disney ‘tear-jerker‘ storyline — orphans overcoming adversity to excel. Some parallels to 1997 Anastasia — given that Paris figures heavily in both movies.

I had NOT heard of this movie.

The renaming was confusing.

But, definitely, indubitably, a good, compelling Disney-genre film. Kids 8 – 12 would lap it up.

Glad we stumbled upon it serendipitously.

‘Sing’ The Animated Musical Is Very Entertaining, Great Songs & Quite The Yarn.

singWe saw “Sing”, at the ‘Regal 10, in Concord (New Hampshire), on Monday.

We had seen the trailers many times on TV and it looked like our type of show. And it was.

It was very good. I would watch it again and I only watch the very BEST of animated movies more than once.

The songs, and the soundtrack, even IF I leave dear Cat Stevens aside, was memorable. The sound was rich, clear and powerful.

Decent animation BUT not up to the recent exalted standards set by Pixar or Dreamworks. The resolution and texture of the furs and skins was what we used to see routinely 5 years ago. But, nonetheless still decent and very watchable.

Good family movie, sans caveats. Highly recommended.
