I Have A ‘Canon EOS R’ Page On Facebook.

by Anura Guruge

Click to access.

I set up this Facebook page, on a whim, on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 — 24-hours ahead of the announcement of the Canon EOS R Full-Frame mirrorless. At that point I had convinced myself that the EOS R was going to be my next camera — in place of the Sony a7 II that I have now had for nearly 18-months (and 25,000 shots).

I am no longer sure that I will get an EOS R, BUT I might as well have fun with the page I created while I am still somewhat interested and motivated.

Please visit. IF you like it, like it!

There is now a Facebook page dedicated to all things ‘Canyon de Chelly‘.

The goal of this page is to celebrate, promote & support ‘Canyon de Chelly’ in Chinle, Arizona — in the heart of the Navajo Nation.

There is already a fair amount of content and a ton of pictures. You should check it out. I think you will like what you see. I will be working on this page over the coming days.

“Popes & Papacy” On Facebook — For All Things Papal.

by Anura Guruge

My ‘Popes-and-Papacy’ Website, which I started around 2008, was EXTREMELY successful until I quiesced it in May 2013 — once the current pope was elected. Though it covered most aspects of the papacy, my overriding interest, commensurate with my work on ‘The Next Pope’ books, was the ‘Next Pope’ and the ‘next conclave’. Well, that happened in March 2013. I then kind of moved onto some of my other interests — e.g., the brain & meditation. Late last year I, very reluctantly, closed down ‘Popes-and-Papacy’ because it was too time consuming to maintain.

Well, it appears that the lead up to the NEXT POPE POST POPE FRANCIS is upon us, and I despite, despite other distractions just cannot resist getting into the fray. So, as some of you may have noticed I am again doing papal posts on a regular basis.

There is no way I have the time, energy or patience to start a new Website.

Hence, ALL my pope posts will be on this BLOG. That is a given.

But, I started the ‘Popes & Papacy’ Facebook page as a tracking site for the pope posts on this blog — given that there are many people who are only capable of reading stuff on FB.

OK? You got the story.

‘Garmin Fenix 5’ Facebook Page.

My other Garmin/Fitbit pages on Facebook.

Given that I already had fairly well visited Facebook pages for the ‘Garmin Forerunner 645‘, ‘Garmin Vivoactive 3‘ and ‘Fitbit Ionic‘, it seemed only sensible to have one for the Garmin Fenix 5 — since that is the only one of these that I now have.

So, that was the rationale.

I get a fair amount of interaction on the Vivoactive 3 page and I even help some folks out.

Maybe, with luck, I can do the same with this Fenix 5 page.

Garmin Vivoactive 3: Popular ‘GearMin’ Watch Face Not Available As Yet.

by Anura Guruge

I think this is the COOLEST of the Garmin watch faces. I did have it on my Vivoactive HR, though it does NOT look good on a rectangular watch face. This is a face for a round watch.

So, I was surprised, last night, when I could NOT find it among the watch faces available for Vivoactive 3. I had to go to the Forerunner 235 page to check the compatibility list (above).

‘He’ (i.e., the developer) does have a Facebook page (below). He is talking about Version 7. But, there are comments indicating that Vivoactive 3 support might not make it to that version either. I will keep you posted.

Fibromyalgia Is NOT What It Used To Be!

by Anura Guruge

If YOUR Fibromyalgia diagnosis is more than a couple of years old the chances are that your diagnosis may need to be RE-EVALUATED.

For a start, doctors in the know, no longer put much stock in the famous 18-tender pressure-spot diagnosis — for so long the BASIS for diagnosing fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia used to be thought of as a condition related to rheumatism (or arthritis). The name itself indicates that it has to do with pain in muscles and fibrous tissues. NOT SO, any more.

The latest thinking is that fibromyalgia is a central nervous system related disorder. As such it is very similar to ‘Central Pain Syndrome‘ (CPS).

On May 16, 2015, the ‘American Pain Society’ issued a press release titledFibromyalgia Has Central Nervous System Origins’. Its opening sentence was: ‘Fibromyalgia is the second most common rheumatic disorder behind osteoarthritis and, though still widely misunderstood, is now considered to be a lifelong central nervous system disorder, which is responsible for amplified pain that shoots through the body in those who suffer from it’.

WOW. WOW. WOW.

To cap it all, the ‘National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association’ (NfmCPA) has an article with the title: Fibromyalgia: A Perfect Example of Centralized Pain’.

One thing, however, has NOT changed. More than 75% of those said to have fibromyalgia are women.

My new bookCentral Pain Syndrome‘ deals with the connection between fibromyalgia and CPS.

This is my Facebook presence for ‘Central Pain Syndrome‘.

I would like you to have a look, please. ‘Like it’ if you do like it. No pressure.

Just lets stay engaged when it comes to ‘Central Pain Syndrome‘ especially IF you have been told you have Fibromyalgia. Fairly good chance that what you really have is ‘Central Pain Syndrome’ and NOT Fibromyalgia.
