No color on the trees. Actually very few leaves in total — & those are the shriveled, brown ones. Colored leaves are too heavy. So, these as you can see are on the ground. We are expecting a winter mix tonight. So much of the leaves, on the ground, will be a soggy mess tomorrow. SMILE.
I have been contending with such an avalanche of falling leaves, on a daily basis, that I had NOT really stopped to take note of the COLOR still around. My fault. But, this morning I happened to glance out of the window & noticed that it was still ‘red’. Ah? Color. So, I went out & looked. We still have color. Not as RED & radiant as it was a month ago, but nonetheless still color. Maybe this is because we haven’t had many/any major storms. What rain we have had has been light. I will keep you posted.
Not unusual. It is still, kind of, mid-October. It has, however, been a LONG foliage season — NOT that I am complaining. I am amazed by the amount of color. To begin with there was a noticeable shortage of yellow. It was all red. Now we have a surfeit. Beautiful to walk through. I am now heading north (actually north east) to Maine. Not sure what I will find there. But, I will, of course, share with you when I get back.
