As someone who picks ticks off himself (and the other day one was in MY PRIVATES(!)) and many, many, many more off the ($60 Frontline treated) dogs near daily I find this mind blowing.
WOW. This is beyond the pale.
Lyme disease is NOT funny. I know quite a few that have it.
I live in dread every day. This is prime Tick & Lyme country and as you must know I go walking/running/hiking around here every day. I don’t think you can build up immunity against Lyme but I keep on hoping that is the case. Though I manage to pick MOST OFF before they really manage to get through my rhinoceros skin, I still end up with 20 to 30 decent tick bites every year.
I guess with the warm winter and early Spring it was inevitable. We started finding ticks on the two dogs earlier this week. Today Deanna picked huge one off Braxton. So this is March 25, 2016. That is early. Ironically we have a coating of ice on the ground this morning.
Last year it was the first week in May! So that is a 6 week head start. Yes, we have Frontline and they will get their first treatment today. SMILE. So Heads Up!
