Every Time Nikki Haley Is On TV With Her ‘Crescent Moon’ Necklace — I Get A Spike In Hits.

by Anura Guruge

Last night at the Trump RNC Convention/Rally.

The infamous, poorly understood necklace.

On just ONE of my many Nikki Haley necklaces posts.

I did NOT even know that she had spoken at the RNC convention last night. Then very late, past midnight, I saw that this blog had had over 550 hits. Yes, 120 were Nikki Haley hits. Thanks Nikki. I love your necklace. Please never take it off. Is it true Trump gave it to you? SMILE.

Funny ol’ thing. Yes, 3-years ago IT confounded I. I had to go check it out. I found out. I shared. I am now reaping the benefits as I should.

Yes, it looks Islamic. But, it is NOT.

It is the State Symbol of South Carolina.

Nikki Haley On TV Again, Today, With Her Necklace With The Perfectly Innocent ‘Crescent Moon’ Pendant.

by Anura Guruge

Click to ENLARGE. Yes, she was on CNN this morning — with Jake Tapper.

I always see a spike in my hits and see it in my ‘search engine terms‘.

I always know when she has been on TV.

I see a definite spike in the hits I get on this blog. I love and think it is funny that I am about the only one who has covered this pendent — hence the attention I get.

I have also come to think that Nikki Haley is being mischievously provocative with this ‘crescent moon‘ pendant. She must know by now that it confuses folks. But, she is not backing away. That also raises the question. Is it really true that Donald Trump gave it to her and as such she feels obligated to wear it?

What fun. Enjoy.

A Million Plus Views Of This Blog!

Yes, this was a landmark I was working towards.

No, I can’t ‘spike’ the numbers myself. WordPress maintains the STATS and they ignore any and all access of a blog from the same IP address (and range) as that of the administrator (i.e., me).

This is a lot of work, but rewarding. Knowing that you have at least 600 views a day, day-in, day-out, is quite nice.

April and May of this year was when I had my ‘meltdown‘. Hence the low numbers. In January & February of last year and this year WordPress had documented issues with their STAT servers. So I lost thousands of hits. C’est la vie.

But, I plugged on. In 2015, when I hit the 500,000 mark I thought it would take me till February 2017 to get to 1,000,000.

Around March of this year I recalibrated that to Thanksgiving 2016.

The last 2 weeks I had November 20th as the day. Beat that by 2 days.

No, I am not going to ease up. Now to the next million.

Thank YOU for your support. Could NOT have done this without all of you.

Thank YOU, a 1,000,000 TIMES.

My ever so popular ‘Fixing No Sound on Roku’ post. Click image to access the post.

This no sound/audio on Roku is by far my most popular post. Since I posted it 421 days ago I have had over 18,000 hits on it. So far today there has been 25.

The fix works. I am GLAD to be helping so many people.

What amazes me is how little acknowledgment I have received. 18,000 views and 2 ‘Thank Yous’. That is 0.011%! It is a new world. A new society. It is OK. I am always happy to help.

SMILE. Life is good. Enjoy. SMILE.

I Ordered A Panasonic Lumix LX100, In Silver, From BuyDig.com (And Fate Played A Role).

by Anura Guruge

lumixlx100buydig

As is always the case I do a lot of intense agonizing before I buy a camera. It is always a compromise and I just like to really have a good handle on what compromises I am accepting. I had gravitated towards the Panasonic Lumix LX100 over 2 weeks ago when I stumbled upon the newly announced and not as yet available Panasonic Lumix ZS100. The ZS100, which is a smaller version of my heavily used Panasonic FZ1000, really intrigued me to the point that I went off and created a ZS100 blog (and I have had 560 hits in 10 days (which is a blast)).

I really struggled with the LX100. The 12.8MP resolution really, really bugged me. That said I will never be requiring ‘HUGE’, 11″x14″ prints off pictures I take off that camera (I hope). 99.5% of all pictures I take I use online, severely downsampled. Yes, it is better to start off with more Megapixels BUT for what I need the difference will be marginal.

People just RAVE about the image quality from the LX100 and that is my paramount requirement.

Plus it has a very nice (if a tad short (i.e., 75mm)) f1.7 to 2.8 Leica lens. That f1.7 was the final clincher. I have had f1.8 lenses in the past and they are a joy.

And then the TOTAL MANUAL controls. That is what I really want. I want to be able to instantaneously change exposure compensation, shutter speed or aperture without having to press buttons and then turn things. This is also the reason that I will be replacing the FZ1000 by September. I am going to get a Fuji X-T1 (or X-T2, if there is one) with full manual controls. Getting the LX100 will give me a chance to make sure that I will indeed enjoy the manual controls.

So that is that. If there is an LX200 in June I will upgrade. SMILE. That is a given. As I did with the Sony RX100 II will sell it on eBay.

So despite the ZS100 it seems I was fated to get the LX100 from the first time I read a review about it.

Fate then intervened again and I kind of feel that that was good.

I was going to get the LX100 from Cameta Camera because they offered a keenly priced KIT.

But, of late, I have been buying most of my electronics from BuyDig (and their sales-master Ray Messiah). The BuyDig kit was not as competitively priced. This morning I went to Cameta to order the KIT! They had run out of Silver LX100s! They had (at least) one at 1am this morning. Now it was gone.

I wanted this LX100 in silver to go with the whole retro-look. So I called Ray Messiah. He understood where I was coming from. So, as was the case with the Sony RX100 II I bought from Ray I got the LX100 at a discount. Wasn’t a huge discount, but a discount nonetheless. I feel safer and happier getting it from BuyDig. So that is the story of the LX100. Yes, of course, I will share pictures with you.

WordPress.com YET Again, 4th Time In 2016, Experiencing Stats Reporting Issues.

Very frustrating. I know by 10am IF WordPress is having issues — and now they, i.e., WP, knows that I know when they are having issues. SMILE. No consolation. Just a heads up.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100 — I Have Created A Blog.

by Anura Guruge

zs100blogann

Click to access.

The scheduled for March 26, 2016 availability Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100, that I serendipitously stumbled upon a few days ago, has really piqued my interest. It is basically a smaller version of my semi-beloved Panasonic FZ1000, which I am now using every day (now that I sold my Sony RX100 II).

As is always my wont I am crunching through reviews of the ZS100 at quite the pace. So it occurred to me that I might as well share what I am finding as I go along. IF I end of getting a ZS100, and right now the odds on that appear to be around the 75% mark, I could really start making the blog exciting with my photos.

Since the Sony RX10 II this is the first ‘pre-release’ camera that I have taken this much interest in. So that was another reason to start blogging. I only created it Monday night, February 8, 2016. This is the first time I have spoken about it. BUT it has already had 95 views with 57 already today — and they are coming from all over the World.

So stay tuned. Please do check out the blog. I already have 6 posts.

Yes, I do have a blog for the Panasonic FZ1000 too —
though I will confess I haven’t done much with it yet. Sorry.

Click to ENLARGE and read here. From Twitter.

This is the 3rd time that WordPress.com has ADMITTED to Stats problems in a MONTH!

December 17, 2015.

January 8, 2016.

And now January 17, 2016.

This is not acceptable. I love WordPress.com, of course, but this drives me nuts.

WordPress.com Again Having Problems With The Stats.

by Anura Guruge

wordstatsjan82016

Click to ENLARGE and view here.

Essentially the same problem we, i.e., WordPress.com bloggers, were having mid-December 2015 — and I talked about here. It was a server problem then and most likely that is the same problem now.

Notice it says I have had ‘1’ Visitor and ‘164’ Views.

Yes, of course, that is possible and on my ‘Orgasm blog’ I do see such patterns on a daily basis with some visitors doing 30, 40 or more views per visit.

But this is how I can PROVE, irrefutably, that the ‘1’ Visitor number is wrong. Just look at my ‘Views by Country’ — and for reasons of space I only show the first 6 countries.

The SAME one visitor cannot be from MULTIPLE countries. Right? You do get that. QED.

If it only listed one country then the ‘1’ visitor could have been right.

The stats are wrong and have been for the last 48 hours. As I have said before I have a fairly good feel of my stats (and I have thing about numbers and stats).

Unlike in mid-December I do NOT have a way of getting this confirmed by WordPress.com. I am not getting their “Can I be of help?” prompts of late. They cycle through their HUGE user base with this. So my window is gone for now.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. Very frustrating.

Hits on my ‘orgasms101.net‘ blog.

orgasmstats

Click to ENLARGE and have a chuckle over. I started it in May of this year, two weeks ahead of my book: “Orgasms: 101 Facts & Trivia”. It was averaging about 40 hits a day. Then this, starting yesterday, because the Google Doodle, released to the world, started to be seen in places like Australia and India ahead of us.

Why the Hits?

Because I have a post about Hedy Lamarr’s orgasmic scene in 1933 ‘Ecstasy’.

Why. Because it was the first female orgasm shown in a non-ponographic movie.

I wrote about it in the book.
