It sure is entertaining, amusing and amazing,
but what really sets it apart gratifyingly
is that it is
uplifting, inspirational and morally rewarding.
In these disturbing times
is a welcoming oasis
of hope, promise and fortitude.
at its conclusion
brings tears to my eyes —
what these KIDS manage to achieve is so wonderful,
their parents must be so, so proud (deservedly).
We were blown away last year and I vowed that I will be back — not just for the show, but also to show our support and gratitude.
It was good last year, and I thought it was even better this year, though on the way home we worked out that they did not have the tightrope walking in high heels which was world class.
All of this year’s acts, including the comedic interludes, were extremely well done. Bravo. Kudos.
It is easy to forget that these are just kids, school kids. Not professionals and, moreover, that they put this astounding show together in 18-days. 18-days!
I was in awe last year and I am in awe again this year.
Yes, I am a circus aficionado who has seen a lot of circuses including Barnum & Bailey (at least 9 times), Cirque du Soleil (at least 4 times), Big Apple (many, many times) & the famed Moscow Circus (in Moscow in the 1970s). In terms of raw entertainment Circus Smirkus is as good! In terms of ‘feel good’ vibes — it is better than all of them!
Yes, I am a fan, a BIG fan of ‘Smirkus’. A wonderful endeavor. Something we can all be proud of.
Thank YOU, Smirkus.
