This is my 3rd or 4th post on this blog. As some of you know I became a very proud & satisfied Atoll iSUP owner and paddler last year.

I, as is often the case, LUCKED out in getting to know ‘Wiley Wise‘, the co-founder of Atoll. He invited me to write some posts along with him. It has been fun.

This post is worth reading.

iSUP paddle boarding is a sure way to beat the quarantine blues and stay/get FIT at the same time.

Think about it.

Fresh air. The gentle lap of the water. Tranquility. Serenity. You can’t beat it. Beats running.

Read it. I elaborate. No point going over all of it again. SMILE. Thanks.

‘Atoll’ Publishes An Article By I, On Their Blog, On Using An Electric Pump To Inflate My iSUP.

by Anura Guruge

Click image to access my article, with pictures of me using the pump, on the ‘Atoll Board’ blog.

I am always game to write about products or things I like, I use with relish or I care about. This electric pump, for my 11′ Atoll iSUP definitely fell into that category. It made using the iSUP that much easier and faster. I can’t imagine inflating my iSUP without this pump. So, I wanted to make sure others heard about my v. positive experience and how I felt.

Luckily the (very friendly) Atoll team were more than happy to indulge I. So, here it is. Yes, there are pictures on this blog of me using the pump. But, now you can see them in a different setting. Enjoy. SMILE.

Living in a house with three females means that ANY of my clothes that will fit them stand a chance of getting STOLEN. No. No. Not borrowed. Stolen. That is what happened to this sweatshirt. It disappeared before I got to even wear it ONCE. But, she (and we will not mention names) didn’t really like the SHARK. She wanted something more subtle. So, I got her another and managed to get this one back. Took over a month.

But now I, luckily, have two ‘Atoll’ sweatshirts — the BUFFALO & the SHARK. I think I might be able to hold onto these. SMILE.

Got this yesterday. I really wanted the ‘buffalo’ sweatshirt, so, as is the wont around here when it comes to I, it was an EARLY Christmas present. I like it.

I am a BIG fan of Atoll Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards (iSups). And when I love a product I am happy to endorse it and sing its praises — cf. Garmin. SMILE.

Check these out. Make great Christmas presents.

‘Atoll’ 11′ Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards (iSUPs) On ‘Loch Lomond’.

by Anura Guruge

No, no, NOT that ‘Loch Lomond’ — this one is high-up, in the Rockies in Colorado. No roads running around it. You have to hike up to it. And they did carrying their 11′  Atoll 11′ stand up paddle boards (iSUPs), the same type as I have.

Good, inspiring story. Have a look.

They, i.e., Atoll, also have some great deals for the holidays. Check them out.

An End Of A 24-Year Era: No More Taking Kids Trick-Or-Treating At Halloween.

by Anura Guruge

Started way back in the 1990s. That what happens when you have 4-kids spanning a 17-year age gap. The only reason I am not contending 27-years is that I think I had a 3-year gap when Matthew was around 8 and no longer needed I to take him around. Then, in 2003 Devanee came around. I have taken kids trick-or-treating in: New Ipswich, Greenville, Temple, Nashua, Gilford and Alton. I can honestly claim, that in 1992, I established trick-or-treating on Route 45 (the shortest marked highway in the U.S.) between Greenville and Temple. This was rural, with minimum 4-acre lots. Houses were far apart and at the end of long (often steep) driveways. You went from house-to-house by car. If you walked you would, at best, in 2-hours, get to 5 houses. So, nobody had done trick-or-treating on that road.

Danielle was three and Route 45 was the nearest road to us. So, I took her, in a Jeep, trick-or-treating. Nobody was expecting trick-or-treaters. It never had been done. Some were very embarrassed and distressed. There were offers of money and dollar bills put into her pail. Others rummaged around. She got a lot of apples — this being prime apple orchard country. But, universally, there was a consensus that we had to come back next year and that they would be ready. And they were. We had fun.

Up until 4pm today I was not 100% sure that I would not be going out. She could still have changed her mind. She didn’t.

I must confess I was glad we didn’t have to go out today. It was raining quite heavily — though the temperature was blamy, in the mid-60s. We would have got soaked.

So, that is that. No more trick-or-treating.

We had two kids, from the same family, turn up. That was it.

But, this year we had more Halloween decorations than ever before — including our first inflatable. I have feeling that that is going to be the new trend. No more trick-or-treating but more decorations.

We Take Our Halloween 2019 Decorations To The Next Level With A 12′ Inflatable & Even More Lights.

by Anura Guruge

Click pictures to ENLARGE.

Our first inflatable! IF we were going to get one, then it had to be the tallest, i.e., 12′. We had seen this one, at a hotel, in Maine last weekend. So, I knew what it looked like.

The flickering flame tiki torches were for I. Again had seen them in Maine. I wanted those BADLY. They are BRILLIANT. Really authentic looking and was on till past mid-night on a 4-hour charge. Might have to get more. In general I am not in favor of solar lights but these look so real and they are not obnoxious in terms of light pollution.

Still have two more sets of lights to put up this weekend. Then we should be done for Halloween. Christmas decorations will go up mid-November.

‘Atoll’ Hats Are As Impressive As Their Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards (iSUP).

by Anura Guruge

Wow, these Atoll hats are IMPRESSIVE! I kid you not. As good as their 11′ iSUP that I am getting very fond of.

Those who know me will attest that I typically shy away from apparel — T-shirts, hats, sweats — that endorse a company, product or service. It has to be very special to I before I will endorse anything by wearing ‘branded’ apparel.

It is going to be different with Atoll. I am going to be wearing these hats regularly over the Summer. Wait and see. I will post pictures as proof. Smile.

Definitely recommend Atoll — the board and the hats.

The Garmin SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) APP — The Data You Get.

This was the very first time I have used the Garmin SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) APP.

I am pretty impressed and pleased with the data it provides. Basically, it emulates what you get with the RUN, WALK or HIKE APPs.

Do not get hung up on my actual data. I am 65-years old, recovering from major knee surgery and just got back into SUP after a 3-year hiatus. Plus, I was never a strong or great paddler. I just do it for the fun. We live close to a lake and we have beach rights. So, I try to get out on the water.

I am using an Atoll 11′ stand up paddle board (iSUP). I have only had it since Saturday. This was my 3rd ride with that board. I have and use a Garmin MARQ Expedition.

MARQ Expedition

The GPS tracking from my Garmin MARQ Expedition — which does have SUP (Stand Up Paddle Board) APP. I used it for the first time today — on my third ride on this new board.

I am really getting to like, admire and trust the Atoll 11′ stand up paddle board (iSUP) I have only had it since Saturday.

Today was the first day I was not battling a strong wind. The lake was calm and it was fun. The board tracks strong and can move.
