‘Tetley Tea’, 183-Years In Business, Finally, In 2020, Figured Out How To Brew Loose Leaf Tea.

Old vs New

This is quite funny. Just 2-weeks ago I did this post showing that the ‘Tetley Tea’ 2lbs Loose Tea box had instructions for brewing tea using a TEA BAG rather than the loose leaf black tea contained in the box.

Well, wrong instructions or not, there was nothing wrong with the tea. Actually quite decent tea, especially for the price. I liked the tea. So, I ordered another box. As you can see they changed the packaging and now they got the instructions right. I am happy.

I am, as of last week, brewing my loose tea using this MAGICAL ‘Hiware’ $22 teapot. As you can see from my Amazon review I think it is pretty close to perfect.

‘Tetley Tea’, 183-Years In Business, And Still Can’t Get Its Instructions For Making A Basic Cup Of Tea Right!

Brewing instructions at the back.

I kid YOU not.

How is this possible?

Coming from Ceylon I like STRONG, black tea. I prefer coffee, but in deference to keeping my hypertension in check (which it is), I try not to drink too much coffee. So, after prodigious quantities of coffee prior to noon, I switch to black tea for the afternoon, evening & NIGHT. It is 11:33pm and I am drinking black tea. Does it keep me awake? Heck NO. Nothing keeps me awake!

I had it with tea bags. Just couldn’t get my tea strong enough and towards the end I was using 4 to 5 bags per mug of coffee.

So, I switched to loose leaf tea and started with this box.

Good tea. Robust. Makes a nice cuppa.

I, of course, had never bothered to read the instructions. I do know how to make tea.

Happened to see the instructions today. Cracked me UP.

Don’t these companies have QA anymore?

I Installed Firmware v1.3 On My Canon EOS RP — And In Case You Want The Instructions.

Installation Procedure.

I got an e-mail yesterday, from Canon, saying that I can improve my photographs. Then went onto say that I should upgrade my Canon EOS RP to Firmware v1.3.

They made it easy. All you had to do to get to the update was to press a BIG RED button. Did so. Was slightly disappointed that the ABOVE instructions weren’t there! They are included in the ZIP file you download. Hence, why I published them here. I did a quick Google and got the gist of what I needed to do.

I had skipped v1.2. I had never done a firmware update on a Canon. Knew I would have to bit the bullet some day. So, decided to give it a try.

I knew I would need a formatted SD card and a fully-charged battery. Got that taken care of.

The process was very straightforward, smooth and quick.

I was all done in less than 10-minutes. No problems. Worked, to my relief, first time.

The new firmware does not appear to have clobbered the camera. That is good news too. So, so far, so good.

Taken after update.

Tamlee Men’s Multifunction Digital Watches — Operating Instructions.

I have seen folks, online, especially on Amazon, looking for the instructions for Tamlee watches (such as that shown above).

Since I had the instructions it was easy enough to scan, post and SHARE.

They are NOT the easiest to READ. Small print and and very poor print quality in a muddy brown. I have tried to improve on that by INVERTING the colors. IF you can ENLARGE the image it should be fine. Don’t blame me. I can only work with the original I have. Sorry. I had to use a magnifying glass to read the original.

My Latest Camera — An Argus C3

by Anura Guruge

This is, by far, the MOST complicated camera I have touched in
the last 2 years. Makes the Nikon D500, that I recently rented,
feel like a toy. Not sure what kind of sensor it has or how
good its autofocus is.

It is an Argus C3. I don’t ever remember seeing one of these prior to today. It is called the ‘Brick’ and that is NOT just for its physical dimensions. It weighs MORE than a brick. WOW. We have forgotten how much mechanical cameras weighed. Feels SOLID. Just like holding a brick. A kind lady in Wolfeboro had in on Facebook — for free. Deanna contacted her. Belonged to her late husband. Came with the instruction booklet. Would be cool to put a roll of film and take some pictures. Wonder what ISO would work.
