Coronavirus COVID-19 Death Rates Vary Significantly By State — New Hampshire Doing Quite Well.

by Anura Guruge

One thing is obvious. Death rate is higher when a State gets inundated.

That explains New York.

People are dying because they are not getting adequate care. Scary.

I am semi-numerate and could tell, at a glance, when it appears on TV, that the New Hampshire death rate was WAY BELOW that of New York. Drove me crazy that nobody was showing the percentages. So, I did it. I didn’t do it for all the States. Hence the gaps … indicated by black rows.

States with low cases — for now — have less deaths because they have the resources to treat the patients better. Pretty self-evident.

So. Thought you might find this interesting.

These numbers STILL REALLY mean NOTHING
since they are CONTINGENT
on the % of people TESTED.

They are ONLY meaningful IF enough people are tested.

These numbers REALLY mean NOTHING
since they are CONTINGENT
on the % of people TESTED.

They are ONLY meaningful IF enough people are tested.

Otherwise the Death % and Per Capita numbers are terribly skewed.

The figures for India obviously can’t be true.

The German numbers need to be looked at!

The U.S. numbers — again skewed by inadequate testing — are middle of the road.

They will go up over the next couple of weeks. That we can be sure of.

U.S. Coronavirus COVID-19 Death Rate INCREASED — As Of Yesterday.

TODAY’s rate compared to yesterday’s.

For yesterday’s post.

In reality U.S. rate might be actually lower —
IF more tests had been done to identify more cases.

So, these numbers and rates STILL reflect inadequate testing.

I didn’t do all the countries today.

Just U.S. and Italy.

The rate is going UP. Not good.

U.S. Coronavirus COVID-19 Death Rate Compared To Other Countries — NOT The Best; NOT The Worst.

Per total cases.

Highest rate to lowest.

Lowest rate to highest.

INTERESTING.

Italy’s death rate defines explanation.

U.K. NOT doing too well either.

Interesting to note those of Germany, Austria & Canada. Countries noted for good health care.

What IF Pope Francis Dies During The COVID-19 Pandemic?

by Anura Guruge

A friend (& collaborator), a devout, lifelong Catholic asked me to address this.
So, I am.

Pope Francis did have the flu at the start of the pandemic,
and this ‘concern’ went ‘unsaid’.

One could assume that God will NOT allow this to happen.

If so this is all academic.

There are essentially 4 scenarios:

  1. Francis, prior to anything going awry, issues an edit that the conclave can be delayed.
Highly, highly UNLIKELY. Popes hate having the papacy vacant — on the valid premise that ‘when the cat is away the mice will play‘.
    —-
  2. Francis, prior to anything going awry, issues an edit permitting secure, remote voting.
Unlikely, and the Vatican will struggle trying to implement, in time, a proven, secure methodology to permit totally untraceable vote casting.
    —-
  3. Cardinal electors already in Rome and those able to travel will hold a conclave and ‘openly’ elect an ELDERLY caretaker pope with a tacit understanding that he will resign (per Benedict XVI) in June 2021.
    —-
  4. Cardinal electors already in Rome and those able to travel will hold a conclave and elect a new pope — with no caveats.

The issue, of course, is the travel restrictions.

Italian quarantine rules per se will NOT apply since the Vatican is its own independent sovereign state.

There is NO airport at the Vatican, but there is a helipad. So, cardinal electors could be choppered in from a nearby country that permits air travel — e.g., Croatia.

As I have repeatedly pointed out in my various ‘conclave’ books there is NO minimum quorum for a conclave. NONE. But, there is the sacrosanct two-thirds majority requirement. So, just 3 electors will suffice. It would not be difficult to muster 40 cardinal electors in/around Rome — at any given time.

Pope John XXIII was elected in 1958 by 51 electors. So, you don’t need 100+ electors to elect a good pope!

The current Dean, 85-year old Giovanni Battista Re would make a good caretaker pope. I think most electors will agree that he is trustworthy. Angelo Scola, 78, might be a great compromise — a cross between a caretaker and ‘normal’.

So, those, per I, are the only 4 meaningful and relevant scenarios.

Pope John XXIII Is NOT A Saint!

by Anura Guruge

From the Vatican as in http://www.vatican.va

Wikipedia.

Click to ENLARGE. From Google News. Google ‘Bergamo virus’.

Check YouTube for Bergamo Virus videos.

Bergamo has become Italy’s EPICENTER for COVID-19.

Bergamo is Pope John XXIII’s hometown.

If Pope John XXIII was a Saint he would NOT let this happen to Bergamo. Simple as that. QED.

Pope John XXIII was an exceptional human being and an outstanding pope.

He is NOT called the ‘Good Pope’ for nothing.

You could trust John XXIII — and thousands, if not more, did.

He is credited with personally saving thousands of Jews during WW II — and that was way before he became pope.

Per Catholic tradition Saints sit on the right side of God (quite literally).

So, IF John XXIII was a Saint, he would be seated close to God.

John XXIII would not sit and let humanity suffer — and he would definitely intervene to help Bergamo.

IF John XXIII is a Saint Bergamo would NOT be the epicenter for COVID-19.

I have studied Pope John XXIII.

I wrote a book about him (below).

Trust me on this. I have no axe to grind.

Pope John XXIII is NOT a Saint.

1st New Hampshire Coronavirus Patient, Medical Professional No Less, Who Did NOT Self-Isolate Should Be CHARGED & Fired.

by Anura Guruge

Click to ENLARGE & read here. This was from: wokq.com. Google for more.

Yes, we know that it is a male, he works at ‘Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center‘ (DHMC) in Hanover, he caught it in Italy and that he was instructed by the hospital to self-isolate.

He was told to self-isolate on Friday.

But, that evening he attended a private, invitation-only function attended by STUDENTS. He knew that!

That is criminal.

He can’t claim that he was ‘unaware’ since he works for Dartmouth — though Dartmouth is not immune from hiring idiots.

If anybody dies, after catching the virus from him, he should be charged with MANSLAUGHTER. Simple as that, because that is what it is.

That DHMC has not fired him as yet is also inexcusable.

They claim that he did NOT come into contact with any patients. I don’t really believe them. SMILE.

They sure do like Donald Trump in Italy, especially the seaside town of Viareggio.

Italians like powerful emperors and even nationalistic, authoritarian strongmen like Mussolini. So, Trump is a natural for them.

Wow. A 65′ effigy.

Trump must love it. IF nothing else look how long that loin cloth is — even longer than his ties. The implications are beyond Freudian. Trump must be covering up something enormous.

I hadn’t seen this on US media, maybe because it isn’t Fake News. But, I wanted to make sure that YOU got to see it. Enjoy. No thanks required. This is my duty and honor.

Key European Prelates Yet To Be Created Cardinals — By Louis Epstein.

by Anura Guruge

Louis Epstein (often mentioned in this blog) maintains a detailed and unparalleled Cardinalabili list — and has done so for decades.

‘Cardinalabili’, a play on ‘papabili‘ (i.e., pope contenders), is a term we use to refer to potential cardinals, i.e., those due or likely a cardinalate.

There was a time, when I was writing all my pope books, that I used to publish Cardinalabili lists — primarily Louis’ — on a regular basis.

I haven’t done so in years, and predicting Cardinalabili with Pope Francis is getting near impossible because he relishes not playing by the prior rules and traditions.

But, today I asked Louis for a list of JUST European prelates that should have been cardinals by now.

This is the list that Louis Epstein provided and I omitted a ‘couple’ that he marked as still being quite young and as such probably a tad premature for a red hat.

UN Security Council Resolution On Trump’s Jerusalem — How The Countries Voted.

by Anura Guruge

This was the Thursday, December 21, 2017, United Nation Security Council vote as to whether the UN Member States wanted to unilaterally recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel per Trump’s pronouncement last week.

128 countries voted AGAINST such recognition, i.e., AGAINST the U.S.A. These included: United Kingdom (UK), France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Russia, Sweden, India, Japan, China, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, etc.

Only 8 countries voted with the U.S. and 7 of them are not exactly household names!

Canada, Australia and Mexico, to THEIR SHAME, kowtowed to Trump.

So, now you know.

128 Against — 9 For — 35 Abstained.
