As I had hoped we managed to make it to Kennebunkport, Maine for their famed ‘Christmas Prelude‘. We left home just before 4pm and got there around 5:15pm. Lot of traffic. Main dragged closed. Parking wasn’t easy (but we had no clue what or where to look for). But found free parking along the road.

Very festive. Very colourful. Very friendly. Very bright. VERY COLD — and that, alas, was the dominant theme.

Fireworks were NOT bad at all. Cool to have fireworks ahead of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

Lots of shops selling lots of cool things. Very decent prices! Yep. We were surprised.

We didn’t hang around much after the fireworks. Just too cold.

But highly recommended. Merry Christmas.

This is billed as the 35th annual Christmas gala. Though I have lived in New Hampshire, within 100 miles of Kennebunkport, Maine, for 30 years this was the first time I have heard of this ‘Prelude’ — or maybe I should say the first time it caught my attention. And that due to a very nifty and persuasive radio Ad. on FM 94.9 which we listen to in the car because of the Christmas music.

It sounded good on the radio. I looked it up. Looks interesting. If the weather is conducive we might go across next weekend. Maybe bump into the Bushes.

Thought I would share it with you. Happy Christmas. Happy Hanukkah on Christmas Eve.
