“Sleep Like An Angel In Church”
This was serendipitous to say the least. We had an errand to run in Wolfeboro, N.H., “The Oldest Summer Resort in the US”, when Deanna, out of the corner of her eye, espied the front of this converted church with its hard-to-miss external decor. She made me turn around. Glad I did.
Deanna didn’t have her camera (for a change). Luckily I was trying out my brand new, less than 18 hours old, 10.2″ Le Pan Android Tablet. It does have a halfway decent front-facing camera (with a built-in, dual LED flash) and I had tried it out a few times last night. So we were outside taking pictures of this ‘church’, with the 10.2″ tablet, when we were approached by the owner — Kirk. He was extremely nice. He told us the ‘whole’ history. He is from Texas, Houston no less. Real genuine oil man — at least he is in the industry. They had moved in in October 2013. He very graciously offered to show us inside. We were BLOWN AWAY. It is like a blinking museum. Love what they have done. Our kind of taste. Kudos. Bravo etc. etc.
They are on Airbnb. IF NOT I would NOT have gushed so much and drawn attention to this unique beautiful property. Plus Kirk gave me permission. I respect people’s property and privacy.
Appears that we know people in common. NH is a small place.
We are going back — with a ‘proper’ camera (and that is a whole other post — since I just, on this very trip, returned a refurbished Nikon Coolpix L820 16MP DSLR that I had got on Friday).
IF you are looking for a B&B in always lovely Wolfeboro, N.H. you CANNOT do better than this! Trust me on that. I know Wolfeboro. This is divine. Stone’s throw to my favorite Cotton Valley Trail or Cate Park.
Brilliant. Made my day. Thanks Kirk.
