This coming Saturday, April 21, 2018, is one of JUST 4 “Free Entrance Days” at the U.S. National Parks.

Entrance prices have gone up this year, $5 at Acadia National Park.

They have cut back drastically on these FREE days.

A few years back it used to be a COMPLETE WEEK in April. We know. We went to the Grand Canyon that year!

April 21, 2018, is the first day of the New Hampshire April school vacation. So, this could work out.

One-day FREE doesn’t normally get you much since ideally you would want to visit a Park for at least a couple of day.

But, hey … it is FREE.

Not of great interest to us. Between us we have TWO (2) Lifetime entrance passes to all Parks! We only need one, but, in a fit of generosity, I bought one just to give some money to the Parks I love!

Fitbit’s “Lifetime” Badges Are So, So Inane, Insulting, Irrelevant & Inappropriate.

So frigging presumptuous of stupid, bloody Fitbit to think that I was born with a bloody Fitbit on my wrist.

Fitbit has NO IDEA as to my LIFETIME. I have had a Fitbit on my wrist for 56 bloody days, That is IT. 56 bloody days.

My lifetime, to date, is 23,583 days. 23,583 days.

Stupid, bloody Fitbit. 56-days does NOT constitute my LIFETIME — you frigging MORONS.

56-days is 0.24% of my LIFETIME.

As many of you have sussed out, I already hate my inaccurate, Fitbit Ionic — and plan to get rid of it in the next 34-days. This is the last bloody straw.

Stupid Fitbit!

Easter 2016 — On Sunday March 27 Is Very Special … Last In YOUR Lifetime!

As some of you know I am intrigued by dates and names and have an incurable addiction for computer-aided (i.e., Excel spreadsheet powered) analysis of dates and names. And as addictions go this is pretty inexpensive, other than in my time, and harmless (though my other addiction, compulsive options trading, takes hardly any time and always makes money).

Well I had created a small spreadsheet to do the Purim and Easter one day apart in 2016 post. And having any type of spreadsheet with dates is a very dangerous thing to I — as the addiction kicks in like a mule on steroids. So yesterday, unable to resist, I populated a new page of that spreadsheet with the Dates of Easter for 300 years (1777 – 2076). It was fun. I then crunched them this-way and that and that even more fun. Yes, I will regale you with data, analysis and charts in the coming days.

Part of the analysis I did was when Easter cycles back to the same day — given that I have two daughters with birthdays in the Easter period, March 22 and April 4. March 22nd is the EARLIEST that Easter can happen and the last time it fell on March 22 was 1818. The next time it will fall on March 22 is in 2285. So Teischan will never celebrate a birthday on Easter. On the other hand Danielle has already had two birthdays on Easter, 1999 & 2010, and will have a third in 2021.

Easter falls 3.3 times more often in April than in March. Plus (as I have found) there are a few prominent repetition cycles for the days: 11, 46, 57 and 141 — 11 the most prevalent.

Danielle’s April 4th is right now in the midst of a 11-year cycle — 1999, 2010, 2021.

Easter on March 27 has happened 10 times in the 300 years (1777 – 2076): 1785, 1796, 1842, 1853, 1864, 1910, 1921, 1932, 2005 & 2016.

So the repetition cycles were: 11, 46, 11, 11, 46, 11, 11, 73, 11.

So yes, Easter 2005 was on March 27.

So there could be people who have seen Easter on a March 27th in 1921, 1932 & 2005. (I think 1910 is close to the upper limit).

So much more over the next few days.

Isn’t this fun. I am, truth be known, very thankful that I am addicted to analyzing dates. It could be much, much worse. SMILE.

Happy Easter. This one is very special. ENJOY.
